This has been the most devastating week as our ability to provide for our staff and community has become nonexistent. The coronavirus pandemic has shaken our industry in ways we could have never imagined.⠀
⠀
Over the past few days, we had to lay off over 150 employees from Acme, Tijuana Picnic, The Happiest Hour, Slowly Shirley, and Ray’s. For years, these individuals have served our communities, delivering joy and comfort with their hospitality- working with them has been the greatest experience of my life.⠀
⠀
Our people are the lifeblood of our organization. Though we hope the closure is temporary, it is an abrupt and severe disruption to the lives of our team members and how they provide for themselves and their families. ⠀
⠀
We are looking for any and all ways to continue to support them as much as we can through these stressful and uncertain times. We are calling on our friends and family, our neighbors, dear regulars, and those in our communities to assist in any way possible. Please consider making a donation if you are able. Every dollar counts. 100% of the proceeds will be donated directly to our team members. All contributions over $500 will receive a free ticket to our re-opening celebration- date TBD of course. ⠀
⠀
We know we cannot only depend on your generosity or other temporary solutions. As others have done, we are also calling on our government to provide leadership and emergency relief packages for restaurant and bar workers. We can’t do this alone.⠀
⠀
We thank you all in advance for your loyalty and support. We hope to be seeing you again soon.

The safety of our guests and staff will always be our top priority at ACME.⠀
⠀
As such, please know we are taking the necessary precautions and go above and beyond our already rigid standards to ensure a safe and inviting space for guests and staff alike. In addition to nightly deep cleans, please know we will be disinfecting high traffic areas such as door knobs, menus, chair backs, bar tops, and more -- every hour on the hour to further mitigate any risk in real time. Likewise, we are providing supplemental staff training and guidance, fully in line with CDC, WHO, and NY Department of Health guidelines, and are actively modifying our service model in line with these prevention protocols.⠀
⠀
ACME remains open and we welcome you to join us. For those at home, we still deliver!⠀
⠀
We will continue to take any and all appropriate action to ensure that we are providing a pleasurable and healthy experience for everyone. If and when things change, we will keep you updated. Stay safe and healthy.
