We are excited to share this event we’ve been working on with Moona Khan and Sadique Pathan with @revivecounselling.ca.

We will be discussing grief in its many forms. Covid has presented so many challenges in regards to grief. We will be talking about grief in relationship to death, loss of relationship, loss of health and loss of job just to name a few.

The session will be on September 1 from 6-8 at the Afflatus Hijab 5509 130 ave. It is FREE but we do ask you to register tickets are in the bio. There are only 20 seats available and both Men and Women are welcome to come.

This jacket is named after Randa Abdel-Fattah. @randaafattah is of Palestinian and Egyptian heritage. She has obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Law at the University of Melbourne and has also completed her PhD in Islamaphobia. Randa is also known as a multi award winning author of 11 books and is also at the forefronts when talking about social issues and injustices especially pertaining to Palestine and Islam. She also teaches at the Macquarie University in Sydney Australia.

Aside from her amazing accomplishments, the world fell in love with her all over again. She was on a panel discussing the genocide and illegal occupation of Palestine. She eloquently dismantled a woman's talking point about her sons dog in Israel being scared of the bombs versus the Palestinian families that are being obliterated. We were literally in awe by her response and have been her biggest fan since.

We have named this long crew neck after @muna.kurd15. Muna is a political journalist living in Sheikh Jarrah, which is located in Palestine. Sheikh Jarrah is one of the most threatened neighbourhoods for eviction and displacement for the Palestinian people. What Muna feared for whole life happened in 2009, Israeli settlers took over half her house. Today she and her family faces the Israeli courts decision, which would ultimately evict them from the second part of their home.

Muna Elkurd has been at the forefronts of the Palestinian resistance and really the face of what has been happening in Sheik Jarrah. She has been documenting everything on social media in real time, which has sparked an uproar by the international community and we love her for that.

She has earned a BA in English Language and Literature from Birzeit University and MSc in Sociology and Global Change from the University of Edinburgh. She worked as a journalist and a reporter and published multiple Socio-political commentaries from Palestine. The world watched her viral interview with CNN reporter Bianna Golodryga. She dismantled the way Golodryga spoke about the negative narrative of the Palestinians. We love how she disrupted that whole interview with FACTS! We love everything about her!
