For #fashionrevolutionweek and #earthday I wrote a pierce for @zeezest on five steps to build a sustainable wardrobe.
.
In the last few years, I have been whittling down my wardrobe, drawing in a little from her philosophy, a little from Marie Kondo and a lot of my own, to build an ethical wardrobe. Fashion, as oft been quoted, is the world’s second most polluting industry. And the pandemic has shown that our current lifestyle is untenable, pushing us to clothes that are more leisurely and comforting. So, how can we use all this knowledge to bring together a sustainable fashion sensibility that is ethical, gentle on the earth and your skin?

Today is #earthday. It's an ode to a mystical planet that feeds, cares for and shelters us, despite the abuses we heap on it.
.
The universe has shocked us into rethinking the way we live. The climate crisis, the pandemic, our wasteful lives as hoarders, there are so many things brought into the spotlight now.
.
What can you do on earth day to make a difference :
?Rethink your relationship with the raw elements. Which of the elements resonate the most with you? ( and we're not talking about survival) is it water? Explore water therapy, bach essences, being more flexible. Is it earth? Explore crystals, gardening, forest bathing. Is it fire? Explore Homa, candles, incense sticks and more. It will ground you and make you happy.
?Look at your possessions. They have no use for you in a few months or years, forget the afterlife. So only buy and use things that make you truly happy. The rest you will outgrow. Use your money wisely elsewhere
?Be compassionate. Firstly towards yourself. Your relationship with you reflects how you deal with the outside world
?Spend more time learning and contemplating why you're actually born and what is your purpose in life. It isn't your job, I can tell you that
?Cultivate friendships and relationships that help you grow and expand. Remember, सुख is expansion and दुख is contraction, it's as simple as that
.

.happy earth day. Let's look after this precious planet that nurtures us and fulfills every dream we dream. ❤️???

So, so hard to keep faith when the people who you entrusted your lives to let you down. Everyone's angry, frustrated and in despair at the apathy and helplessness. Of squandered opportunities and the absence of someone who can truly guide us in these difficult times. While we stay afloat, it's hard to remember we cannot forget our humanity, even though others choose to forget. Love and light. Stay safe ❤️

.
Each time I open the news paper, I think we people have forgotten how we are one of the greatest and oldest civilizations in the world.
.
Do we cherish what we have inherited from our ancestors and from our past? Our rich culture built over different centuries and different traditions thanks to people from across the world who made India their home. Our beautiful tangible and intangible heritage. Our art, languages, architecture, classical dance, music, flora and fauna, and our secular fabric, which now has numerous holes in it.
.
What happened in the past few centuries, the decimation and degradation of our thought was reprehensible, but the past few decades after independence has seen a resurgence of pride in what was ours. The way we lived with nature, the way we dressed, the way we ate, our languages, and so much more.
.
Now, let no one dictate how Indians should live, and least of all, those who are our own but have vested interests. We're a glorious united nation that cherishes each other. Let's embrace the best of the past heritage and the best of the present. This is our heritage. Let's celebrate it. ❤️

My aim of starting @beejliving, which continues till date, is to bring to you stories of India you wouldn't have heard.??

And it thrills me to share the story of Ashok Bishnoi is the founder of @_thecharkha The Charkha (formerly known as Lokashram), a store promoting the crafts of Bikaner and khadi products, located at the premises of the NRCC (National Research Center on Camels). Visitors to the store wanted camel-focused products. So, last year, he started on a mission to create blankets from camel wool. ??

The Golden Hour

The most beautiful time of the day is sunset.

The Sun before sunrise is called Savitr. Savitr removes evil nightmares and renders men sinless. Savitr drives away sorcerers and antagonism.

It's a time of cleansing, of divine grace, spiritual success, and divine love❤️
