@americanredcross has been in dire need of platelets and plasma donations since this crazy pandemic started. Many lifesaving medical treatments for patients require platelet transfusions, especially cancer patients. It's a super easy procedure that only takes 1.5 hours of your time. I never did it because I was too dumb to understand, but here's how it works: they draw the blood from one arm, transfuse the blood of platelets/plasma and then deposit it back into the other arm all at the same time. During this, the nurses are always so appreciative, and you get to pick a movie to watch (which are always new releases). Basically, it's like the only movie theater experience we can get these days... But like, more blood than a Tarantino flick, and you're saving lives. You can also donate as often as every 2 weeks, since no blood is missing whatsoever! Also, they even follow up to tell you where it went! It's pretty rad. The second photo is the finished product
