The year is 2016 ???? Im freshly 21 and about to graduate with 2 business degrees and highest honors an entire semester early…. But I don’t even take time to acknowledge or celebrate because I have tunnel vision. I’m obsessed with fitness and nutrition and NPC bikini and building my community on social media. OBSESSED. I don’t want to use my marketing degree to build someone else’s dream… so I turn down the job offer I get for after college. My now husband has devised an elaborate plot to get back together and it worked (clearly) Skinny jeans and flannels and chokers and combat boots are the height of fashion. I’m already making a full time income as an influencer and ‘sponsored athlete’ after pioneering the fitness influencer business model. My YouTube channel is climbing the ranks and I shamelessly vlog in public. I can’t believe people wait in line to meet ME at fitness expos. I celebrate by getting my first luxury car and still have it 10 years later. I’ve ‘launched’ my online coaching business because I want to have more control over my cash flow and make a more direct impact on other women. There’s no blueprint to follow so I make it up as I go and end up (eventually) creating industry standards. (I don’t call myself a Founding Father of this space for nothing ????????????????) I can’t wait to move out to LA to live near my industry friends and work out at Golds Venice (‘The Mecca of Bodybulding’) It’s mind blowing that I’m getting paid to do photoshoots for big name fitness companies after growing up watching ANTM. My entire life revolves around creating content, working out, building a business, and hunting for rare donut flavors (we were all obsessed with donuts) And I have no fucking idea how big this is all going to become ???? I definitely did not have it all figured out but I’m so proud of the version of me who was brave (and naive) enough to give it her all. There has been so much growth, healing, and learning since then… but we all start somewhere???? PS if you have been here since these photos, please say hi. THINGS *ARE* CHANGING… but the click bait, witch hunt content is lazy ???? As if we ALL wouldn’t love the ability to walk away from any piece of our business that no longer feels aligned because we don’t need that income???
