The interesting thing is that Mayans believed that life stemmed from the cenotes so they would ritualistically send offerings, often including human sacrifices.

Cenotes are natural “time machines,” where stalagmites & stalactites have shed light on major weather events dating back to the prehistoric era. This discovery allowed scientists to theorize the extinction of dinosaurs, with evidence showing that there may have been a massive drought in the plains of Africa that led to atmospheric asphyxiation by dust storm. However, scientists recently discovered that dinos did go extinct by a meteor, ironically striking just north of the Yucatan Peninsula!

What a way to cap off 2019 ????????
Filming in Kualoa Valley (@kualoaranch), and not just filming but BEING in Kualoa Valley has been a dream of mine for years. The project we’re working on has been 12-14 hours a day of editing, 33 videos in 30 days, sacrificing livelihood as an investment to be a part of a group that is, quite literally, making an impact on climate change.
I feel beyond grateful to even be considered for this opportunity and I cannot express how important this is to me - we will get the right voices heard, we will save the reef, and we WILL restore this planet as it is our job and our duty as citizens of this world.
Leave it cleaner than you found it.

I am beyond proud of this kid. @amirzakeri decided to take action and risked everything to become a Traveling Filmmaker. He has been one of my mentees for a few years and this was his first “real” trip out of country - less than two years ago, with a total of ~5k followers, Amir is now one of the top Filmmakers on social media.

The key to pursuing your passions is to remember one thing - there are a sh*t ton of people who have the same passion as you and want it as bad as you. If you want to achieve your goal, you need to get uncomfortable and risk it more than any of your competition.
