Neighborhood brunch spots that are walking distance from your house stay undefeated ? we went for a walk this morning thinking we would stop by @beeswingpdx only to find a new cafe in its place! Brace yourselves for @cafetbd ? They literally opened doors 3 days ago and they were incredible! We got the classic breakfast sandwich on a cheddar biscuit and the smoked salmon latke Benedict (we had to exert some serious will power not to add a half order of the brown butter waffles on the side) ?

WE ARE BACK!! And we’re are celebrating the end to our brief hiatus with this simply delicious breakfast from @trinketpdx ? What you see here is the polenta, eggs & greens with pork al pastor buried underneath next to the seasonal hash with golden beets, arugula and pork sausage ?? We saw trinket mentioned in @theoregonian list of best brunch spots and had to see for ourselves and it was definitely worth it! The perfect little neighborhood cafe ☕️??

I normally go for savory stuff at brunch, and even when I go sweet I dig in on some waffles, but when I spied the oatmeal brûlée with mixed berries from Gravy I knew I had to try it and IT ? WAS ? SO ? GOOD ? They layered the berries in there so even if you eat all the berries on top immediately (goodbye self-control ?) there’s still some mixed in the middle! You can also order this with bananas & pecans and that’s exactly what I’m getting next time we go ?

As we wrap up patio season (or as some call it “summer” ?‍♀️) we had to hit one of our fav spots @eclipticbrewing for a “Ploughmans lunch” which has cheese, meats, and duck liver pate! Don’t let it scare you, it was basically just really flavorful butter ? Paired with pints of their seasonal brews ? This place is vegan friendly, has great seasonal specials, and all day happy hour on Mondays!! Literally all I need in one place ?
