In @jordan.b.peterson book “12 rules for life” the 2nd rule is simple yet profound.. it says treat yourself like someone you’re responsible for helping. It is so much easier to show sympathy to others, including animals, than it is to ourselves. If you struggle with this some advice he gives is to take the time to get to know yourself in the same way you would get to know a new friend. Maybe that’s taking yourself out to dinner or treating yourself to a coffee. But I still haven’t found a better way to get to know yourself than yoga & meditation..
