FOSTER FRIDAY: Meet PJ! PJ is all lab, in the best possible way. He is a joyful, exuberant 7 month old puppy. PJ would thrive in an active home. He would be the perfect dog for a family who loves hiking, park trips & water. PJ loves the water! He thinks the water hose is pretty much the best invention in the world. Watering your flowers? PJ thinks you got the “doggy sprinkler” out just for him! We haven’t had the chance to take him swimming in a river or lake yet, but think he would catch on very quickly. PJ loves to play! He bounds across the yard after toys, balls & sticks. PJ is also learning how to fetch. He’s mastered the running after and retrieving part - we’re still working on the return. PJ is willing, sweet and should be easily trainable. In foster care PJ is working on his good puppy manners. His foster family is teaching PJ all about crate training & house breaking, and basic commands. PJ loves to play, but he also loves to snuggle! PJ would do well in a home with older dog-savvy kids. He seems to adore everyone he meets - human or canine! PJ is curious about cats, but the cat in his foster home quickly put him in his place. We think he could be successful in a home with a cat if introduced properly. Good with dogs, doing well with dog savvy cat in foster home, kids 8 and up. PJ is a 7 month old black male. He weighs 47.2 lbs. Townhouse approved.

Foster Friday: Cody! 2 years old, good with dogs and unknown with cats. Kids 10 and up. Needs a physical fence. Cody is a happy, high-energy guy who loves everyone he meets, every toy in the toy box, and every activity we’ve done so far. He enjoys jogging, hiking, walking, and playing with the resident labs in the yard. He thinks tennis balls are a blast and loves stuffies, Kongs, and Nylabones too. When he’s taking a break from playtime, he will snuggle his soft head in your lap and roll over for belly rubs. He gives gentle kisses to the kids and always enjoys their company. Cody is close to perfect, but nobody’s perfect. Sometimes he puts paws on the counter, but he’s too short to reach past the edge. He knows how to back out of his collar, but his harness has solved that problem. Sometimes he gets spooked by loud noises or dark doorways, but a treat and some encouragement helps him be brave. He loves shoes and slippers but will glady give them back when asked. Cody would be a perfect fit for an active family that will give him plenty of playtime and exercise and and lots of love and affection. #FosterFriday Kimber has been trying and trying to get 2 balls at once in the pool and was successful this week! Now he’s onto trying to get 3 balls. His favorite activities are retrieving balls in the pool and going for walks around the neighborhood. He walks well on the easy walk harness and loves to smell all the smells and is good when we see other dogs. He would make a great running partner. Kimber is 1 year old and 68lbs, is townhouse approved, and approved for kids 10+.

Dodger is looking for a home that likes to play ball. For those eyes, we'd throw the ball ALL day. Who could say no? Wonder if the name or his love of playing ball came first? This cutie really loves to retrieve. On occasion he will play keep away but if you ignore him, you'll get the ball back. Dodger is 2yo and 75lbs with a mean lab lean! He enjoys going for car rides and would like to help navigate. He wants to see where you are going and not where you have been. Dodger plays well with other dogs and is unknown with cats. This smart boy knows his commands but could use some refreshers. Dodger is all puppy and needs more exercise than daily walks. He pulls on the lead and could benefit from an Easy Walk harness. Dodger is crate-trained and keeping his kennel clean at the shelter. Remember, there are lots of pups who need foster homes right now. You can also foster-to-adopt. #FosterFriday Willow #2 is a 2(ish) year old black beauty. Though most of her puppies are still looking for homes, she’s all done doing “mama” things and is ready to find her forever humans to love her and let her be the center of their world. This sweet girl loves to cuddle, and will squish herself next to me on the couch for snuggles when we’re watching some tv, and just stares at you adoringly. She loves having her ears and belly rubbed. Toys are another favorite of hers – she loves to play with them and chase them, and scoop them up while running full speed in the yard. Zoomies, especially in the morning with the weather cooling off, have become a Willow staple – she’ll finish her business and then run full speed, adding a couple of zoomie loops for good measure as she runs to me. She’s excellent in an exercise pen or crate while I’m not at home, and is fully house trained. She also sleeps quietly through the night without a peep and then is ready to play when the alarm goes off. This sweet chocolate-eyed girl is an amazing catch! Foster Friday: Maverick, gorgeous 16 month old boy, full of energy and personality, gets along very well with our yellow girl and guinea pig! Can get a bit vocal on walks, when he sees other dogs/ people, but with proper training and patience can be fixed/improved! He has been with us for a week and has completely adjusted to our daily routines! Very affectionate with us as well!??

He plays with the plush toys but doesn’t tear them apart. He pokes his nose at it to make it squeak. Kimber is house trained and crate trained and walks well with the easy walk harness.
