This weekend has been so nice road tripping with Charlie and my parents.

My mom, for a bit now, has been saying she wanted to go on a road trip, and her birthday seemed like the perfect occasion for it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our main point was just Savannah, and last night, on a whim, we decided to check Hilton Head today. What a beautiful place! The scenery is gorgeous and relaxing. I highly recommend visiting.

Who else loves impromptu trips? It’s one of my favorite things about traveling. You just go with the flow and get to experience new places/activities ?.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I got to say these moments together have been priceless. And I love that I've been disconnecting more. ?

Here's to a lovely weekend celebrating mi mami ☺️?

I’m curious. Are you keen on renting everyday clothes? Or just special occasions outfits? Or neither?

I love the idea behind rentals. First, it extends the life of a garment. And second, it provides flexibility when you want to try a new style without a long-term commitment.

As we know, subscription models are not new. So far, we’ve mainly seen them in the multi-brand space with companies like Rent The Runway, offering primarily special occasions clothes.

But, are mono-brand apparel rental services the new thing? As seen above, @ralphlauren is the latest brand to enter the clothing rental space.

In my latest @adweek article, I spoke with several analysts to discuss just that. Tap the link in bio to find out.

Recently I’ve been honored to work with @ecoage, a communications agency focused on sustainable business strategy, and their client @econylbrand, a regenerative nylon made from waste materials, including industrial plastic and fishing nets found in the ocean.

I wrote a quick guide on how to cut your closet’s carbon footprint. Indeed, it takes time and effort to lower your closet’s carbon footprint. But significant lifestyle changes are often needed to make an impactful change on the planet.

Just like brands have a responsibility to reduce their carbon footprint, so do customers.

The last few weeks, I’ve been working with @adweek on a piece about brands and their Black History Month involvement.

It’s safe to assume most of us have noticed an increase in brands creating exclusive collections and campaigns for this year’s celebrations. But are these efforts meaningful or hollow?

Most of us remember that many brands pledged to change and fight for social justice back in the summer. So my first article for @adweek addresses if these campaigns/collections are proof brands are taking those pledges seriously? Or is Black History Month just another marketing moment?

I had the opportunity to interview many analysts and got their take on the matter. Tap the link in bio to read.

I enjoyed researching and writing this article so much— let’s be real, I say that for every story ?.

But the term biodegradable fashion has been popping up lately, especially as most of us know that the fashion industry has a waste and contamination problem. Hardly any clothes produced today are made entirely from materials that don’t pollute our soil, waterways, and oceans.

And that’s where biodegradable fashion seems like the solution. But you can’t just throw that cotton t-shirt in the backyard compost! It’s a little bit more complicated than that. Here’s what you need to know when designing completely biodegradable fashion. Tap the link in bio for my newest @ecocultcom story. ✨

This perfume right here by @sanajardin has become one of my favorites recently. ?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last fall, I wrote a piece for @ecocultcom about non-toxic perfumes. The perfume industry is typically portrayed as fun and glamorous, but it’s also notorious for its negative impact on the environment. Concerns range from ingredient sourcing to carbon footprint reduction and the environmental impact of packaging.

And don’t get me started on the issues behind labeling. Brands throw “natural” on the label to appeal to customers, but natural doesn’t always mean better either.

Tap the link in my bio to read what we recommend you ask perfume brands + a list of sustainable alternatives (including this one). ? #gifted
