It has been so heartwarming to read all the ways in which @adehogue touched people's lives. There isn't much that I could add that hasn't already been beautifully articulated, but I wanted to contribute. I have admired Adé's craft since I started lettering in 2015. His passion for the perfect curve was apparent in all of his work. I tried to play it cool when I finally met him at the Co-Loop meetup in 2019. I was fanboying hard.

After meeting Adé, I was able to see there was so much more to him than his immense technical skill. I admired how he lived unapologetically, even if it meant going against the grain. By talking about social justice, he encouraged me to learn more and to share my own journey. And his generosity with knowledge motivates me to give away what I can.

One of the highlights of my career was collaborating with Adé on the Philadelphia Magazine cover. He was, of course, not fully satisfied with the lettering he created for it. As usual, his composition was perfect. Adé was so complimentary of my contribution to the piece, and I was beyond flattered. He gave me validation right when I needed it. It was such an honor to have the chance to work alongside him.
