March always creeps up on me like an unexpected guest, not just because it's my birthday month (which I honestly couldn't care less about, birthdays are overrated), but also because it marks a milestone. This year, March whispered in my ear that I've survived a whopping 10 years in the mysterious land of Saudi Arabia. A decade! That's like binge-watching a TV series and realizing you've been glued to the screen for a whole season. And let me tell you, Saudi Arabia is quite the experience. It's like hopping on a rollercoaster through a bazaar of culture, hospitality, and more sand than you can shake a stick at. It's here, where I had a blast as a VIP flight attendant, zipping around the globe like a jet-setting (wannabe) superstar. I've found one and a half of loves of my life—my fun husband and our badass cat. It's also where I have met so many amazing people and built forever friendships. And now, I'm living the dream as a photographer, capturing life's moments and having fun with being my own boss. But let's face it, life here isn't all sunshine and sand dunes. Some days, it feels like I'm trapped in a concrete maze, with dust gathering like pesky breadcrumbs. Sure, Saudi has its charms, but I do miss the greenery and the smell of rain-soaked streets. And going around the city on my bike or scooter. And walking my dog to the forest which is just across the street. Money talks, but it can't control the weather. And as much as I've embraced this sandy kingdom, there's a whisper in the wind that maybe, just maybe, there's another adventure waiting beyond these walls. Who knows what the future holds? For now, I'll snuggle up to the idea of calling this place home sweet home, even if it means planning escape missions every other month just to keep my wanderlust at bay. Here's to March, the month of surprises, and to whatever lies ahead!
