Wednesday’s are for adventure! It is feeling really good here in Washington this week, lots of sunshine and warmish temps which means a lot of time outside. We are gearing up for a couple cool projects in the house and on our property, this is all starting to feel like home. I can’t wait to experience all of this in the spring and summer. Some more shots from our weekend romp. I’m finding 2 years old to be a really fun age, our daughter is adventurous and hilarious most of the time and generally down for an dinosaur hunt. This hike she walked almost a whole mile on her own which is a huge improvement. We generally start her in our osprey poco hiking baby carrier but I forgot it so we just pushed on. @amymashburnwellness and I will be back to those 7-10 milers in no time!!

It is awesome to live somewhere that inspires me in. I always felt inspired when we lived in Puerto Rico, the vibe, the beaches, the water, the mountains, the Freediving. There was always something to do and always a good picture to be had. Florida was a great place to start a family but I didn’t find it to be a place that sparked my creativity or that made me want to go outside and explore. Right now I’d spend all day every day running around the woods if I could. It’s nice to be back and really engaged in living and experiencing the outdoors with my family. I ended up getting really sick this week which sucks worse than normal if you have kids. I thought I had COVID and went to get tested but I don’t so that’s good. Now I am just pretty much going about life as normal with a swollen lymph node in my neck that’s making my jaw hurt. Here’s hoping I get over this quick and no one else in the house gets it. I just want to go run around outside. I am a giant baby when I am sick lol.

We spent all day today trying to finish a hugulkultur bed. This little baby helped us haul logs which made it easier but alas, we did not get it done. Come hell or high water there will be veggies planted by next week. As we get to know our land, what areas are full or partial sun, we are getting more confident in developing a plan for everything. We need a chicken coop and some more beds, and a spot for a few alpacas. What animals should we get? @amymashburnwellness wants a miniature horse.

We walked our property with a landscape architect yesterday and he pointed out that based on a map there was a stone monument where our property line is. (We are still figuring out where everything ends so we can maximize our space.) Naturally this sent me on a quest today, in the rain, through the thorny bushes and downed trees to find the monument. In the end I found a stick with a pink ribbon on it behind an giant tree. #adventure so now I have to build a stone monument.......
