Indie-rockers Metric (@metric) made a stop in Austin as they continue to promote their latest album, ‘Art of Doubt’. I haven’t really been into Metric that much, but I did know some of their early hits including ‘Dead Disco’, which they didn’t play - they actually made the crowd choose between that and ‘Gimme Sympathy’, and the crowd chose the latter (I know right? WTF was that. Can’t let the people decide! ????). That aside, they put up a very good performance. Between catchy synths and dancey beats, the crowd was loving every minute of it, while lead vocalist Emily Haines gave these songs their trademark edge. Fun night. ???? March 2nd, 2019 ???? Zoé (@zoetheband) was such a splendid trip (both visually and musically) when I finally saw them live a couple of weeks ago at the Moody Theatre. And I say ‘finally’ because many of my friends are deeply into them + had been able to catch them live in past years. You know it’s a great show when most (or at least half) of the setlist was comprised of new material and it all still felt like HOME - immersive doses of latin american rock with eclectic guitar loops and two drum-sets for a simple yet soulful sound. ♥️ Grandes, ¡no paren nunca! ???? And just like that, The Grand Pause is 2 years old. Granted it’s been a phenomenal experience to be able to share my perspective, shots and feelings about something as magical as live music. I continue to think of ways to take this project to the next level, you may see some exciting things in the future. For now, I can’t THANK YOU enough for the support, interactions and overall sense of community that I have received from you all. To live music and its joy! ???? ???? March 9th, 2019 ???? Austin, TX

I’ve been away for a while, I know. Life has been crazy these last few months, but 2019 is shaping up to be a great year, hopefully. On that note, I decided to start this musical year with the boys from Brighton, indie rock band The Kooks (@thekooksmusic) whom I had seen live a couple of times already - so why not? Third time’s a charm or so they say. That doesn’t necessarily applies as these guys have been superb every time I’ve seen them. The Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater was as packed as I’ve ever seen it, singing along to each of their songs. I must admit I was kinda disappointed they left some of my favorite songs out of their setlist (Matchbox, for example - WTF GUYS?), but these guys always show up for a good night. The show was a mix of old and new (more of the latter), which rounded up a good comeback for myself to this magical world of live music. ???? February 15th, 2019 ????
