This pose that strengthens & tones the legs which giving you the opportunity to nourish the spine & back, guided from the core. Swipe for a video with the most common mistakes.

Beginner tip: don't fold all the way down, bend the knees too much or twist too far. If your back is rounding forward as you twist, lift up and avoid putting the elbow on the outside of the knee. Instead twist as much as you are able to with your back upright and straight. You don't need to go all the way into this pose to reep all of the benefits.

An excellent glute & hip stretch to save 

If you can’t reach your shin, just interlace your fingers over your thigh ☺️ Remember to always use modifications instead of forcing your body into a shape!

You can either do this pose with the outside ankle parallel to the knee, or down towards the glutes as pictured.

The tricky part is the balance and flexibility (outer hips, hamstrings, side waist, and arms). You may need to use a strap! ⠀

in my opinion one of the most underestimated poses and by far one of the trickiest standing foundational poses 

Assuming you are practicing Trikonasana in the right way, I bet it took you some time and a good few adjustments to finally get it right ?

I think the main problem for people with limited groin and hamstrings flexibility or who have developed a bad habit in this pose, is to bring all their intentions to the bottom hand, thinking that reaching the floor is the whole point in Trikonasana

❎ The whole point is to engage your upper body (specifically core and sides) as much as your lower body, allowing a nice opening across collarbone area, hips and side body. Your bottom hand should actually feel super light and carry close to 0 weight

So here are my top tips to modify if you are having a hard time with Trikonasana:
▪︎ shorten your stance
▪︎ elevate the bottom hand (with or without a block) 
Notice this is just a possible way to modify and an effective combo to get a nice opening of chest, shoulders and hips. Block could be inside or outside of front foot based on what allows you to keep your torso in line with the front leg ?
