Happy Holidays ❄️❄️❄️ We don't send out Christmas cards, but still rock matching pajamas. This was the first year we found a matching set for our pup too ???? thanks Target. We have been talking a lot as a family about traditions. While we have a lot of Christmas ones, our favorite is always decorating the tree. We always go together and pick 1-2 ornaments each that represent that year for us. Putting our new and past ornaments up is such a fun way to cherish and talk about old memories. Ireland in an RV ???????? Rodrigo's favorite country of the 43 he has visited was Ireland. He was blown away by the scenery, the Slea Head drive particularly was so breathtaking that we did it 2 days in a row! The kids enjoyed having tons of space to run and enjoyed some of the festivals we found while there. They also loved meeting up with new friends, the @transatlantic_leonards. My dad's family came to the USA through Ellis Island from Ireland so it was fun looking up the towns they lived in. It was out first big RV trip during our full time travels. We loved our @spaceshipsuk experience so much we are tempted to plan another big road trip through the UK, Northern Ireland, and Scotland for summer 2022. Warm or cold Christmas? ☀️❄️???? Our neighborhood is jam packed with Christmas festivities, but despite all of the events the high 70 degree temperatures makes it hard to feel like Christmas is near. We spent Thanksgiving week swimming daily and can still go to the beach. Winter in Florida feels like a Colorado summer to me ???? I don't love the cold, but do find that the cold weather gets me in the holiday spirit. I think our bodies will be in a shock when we fly out to ski Christmas week. I can't even believe this incedible moment was 2 years ago! We sailed from Rome to Dubai stopping in Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Oman, and UAE. Each place beautiful and unique, but for us the highlight of that month was Petra! People seemed to be surprised when we decided to go with our kids. We were warned it would be a lot of walking and not very fun, but we found it to be the complete opposite. The walk from the visitor center to the treasury is 2 kilometers. Our kids walked it and loved finding carvings in the rock walls along the way. If you don't want to walk, you can pay for a carriage ride (around $40 per 3 people) or get a free horse ride that's included with your ticket. Once we got there, the kids had fun seeing dogs, camels, cats, and donkeys. They ran around Petra and loved meeting locals whom greeted them with pinches to their cheeks. Overall, our kids had a wonderful time and it was the best archeological site we have ever visited. So don't pass it up if you have kiddos! ♥️♥️♥️ Going to post some throwback stories of our day there so be sure to check them out today.
