The last month was super hectic and stressful with so much running around and overdoing things. Today, I decided to spend the whole day relaxing and doing nothing. Just taking a breather before the next big challenge: entertaining these little ones for the next 45 days! . . Here’s a throwback to our last travels and outings to remind me of the fun times ahead. . . As a mom, I’m gearing up for the summer with a few tips and tricks to keep things smooth and fun: 1. Avoid screen overload: Too much TV and mobile games can be tempting, but let’s mix it up with some outdoor play and creative activities. I have decided not to give them any screen time except some nice kids movies. No I pad , no phones . . . 2. Plan daily activities: From arts and crafts to cooking together, having a plan can keep boredom at bay and make each day exciting. . . 3. Encourage reading: Summer is a great time to develop a love for books. We’ll be visiting the library and picking out new adventures to dive into. . . 4. Set a routine: Even during vacations, a bit of structure helps. It keeps the days manageable and kids know what to expect. . . 5. Family time: Use this time to bond. Simple things like picnics in the park, evening walks, or even playing board games together can make beautiful memories. There was a time when Diwali didn’t just look festive… it felt festive. ???? The air smelled different and sweeter. The evenings glowed softer. The excitement started weeks before — from buying diyas to choosing those crackers… it was so exciting and fun. Dhanteras meant new things, new beginnings… mummy buying new stuff and starting all those poojas with the whole family. That was just so different — it meant that feeling of magic in the air. Back then, Diwali wasn’t just about lights… it was about belonging. How we all used to decorate the mandir for Diwali pooja. About the sound of laughter echoing through the house, the warmth of people sitting together, the smell of homemade sweets, the endless chatter, and that feeling of being wrapped in love. I still can hear that “Shri Ram Chandra Kripalu Bhajman” sung by the whole family during pooja. That was my favourite at that time. I still love to sing this bhajan.
