This is one of—if not the—first wallride to flairs on street, specifically on cement. I pulled this off in 2009 at the infamous Sepulveda Dam, which Hollywood has used for all sorts of big shoots (think Escape from New York, CHiPs, and Iron Man 2). I’d actually ridden the ditch once before, but that attempt ended with me blowing up my back wheel. This time, I rolled up with BMX filmer icon Glenn PP Milligan @glennppmilligan and my LA street legend homies: E-Man (Emanuel Cantero), Anthony “Boy” Flores @anthonyboyflores , and the don himself, Steve Croteau @peepgameltd —who honestly thought I’d probably kill myself trying this ???????? As I rode to the top of the dam, I felt solid confidence in my ability, and I really wanted to impress the crew. I made sure to haul ass at the column and blast the flair as high and slow as I could. Much to all of our surprise, I landed it first try—and my tire eventually went flat from the impact! Flipwhip Fridays — back when #DCShoes still was down for BMX we got to end our ALL IN tour at Disneyland and put on Demos throughout the day. Fun facts Edwin shot a film photo of this I’ve yet to ever see, and I ended up buying this mobile ramp setup and rebranded it as @theriggg ( back when people did tricks on metal ramps).
