Sorry I’ve been a bad online friend. I’ve been busy being a hermit ???????????? Social media is cool but… I can’t sometimes ????????‍♀️???? I’m super sensitive/empathic so all of the stimulation in this online world that we’ve created is just tooooo much sometimes (most times). The media (news, social networks) highlights all the division amongst humans—race, gender, identity, class, religion, eating habits, sexual preference…and now vaccination status—and I just plain don’t like it. It doesn’t make me feel good so I just check out ????????‍♀️ I like being happy. And I get it: all of this stuff is “important” but social media literally gives EVERYONE a platform—I’m just choosing to be selective with what my eyes and ears consume. I’ve been enjoying connecting with people in-person, traveling, listening to music, READING, deep cleaning my space, sunbathing naked in my backyard, talking to my kids, etc… so I’m totally disconnected from what’s going on in pop culture but way more connected with the culture of my own life. I would like to find some balance, though ???? I’ll let you know how that works out ???? I hope you all are well and happy ♥️ Stay curious & keep exploring ✨ Photo by: @shot.by.sean #almostevolved

I actually love getting older ???????? age is the price of wisdom: the wisdom to know the difference between truly loving someone and being attached to them, the wisdom in realizing that your self-worth is not determined by your net worth, the wisdom to see things for what they really are, not how you want them to be—and to be okay with reality, the wisdom to understand that not everyone will be approving of how you choose to live your life—and living it anyway. Mostly with age comes the wisdom that not everyone will “age” like you—no one will have the same experiences as you with your unique perspectives and thus, will not be imparted with the same “wisdom” that you’ve gained (what is wisdom to you may be nonsense to others)…and then learning to accept that as opposed to judging everyone and their own journeys (despite talking about wisdom, I stared at the word “journeys” forever wondering if I was supposed to make it “journies” even though auto correct kept telling me I was wrong) ???? In short, with age comes more peace. Well, for me…I can’t speak for everyone but I do pray that everyone finds peace in the process of living ???????? I’m a feminist. It seems that people think feminists hate all men but that’s not the case at all—it’s only some men ???? Feminism means that we feel women should have equal rights as men do. Men can be feminists, too ???? But people always ask so let me state this: yes, I’m fine with paying for dates, mowing my own lawn, being the “handy” one, and pretty much any other thing that would typically be “required” of a man. I just believe in equal effort. I won’t always be the one paying for the date and neither will the man. I think that’s only fair ????????‍♀️ In relationships, I think “gender roles” should be more like “partner roles” that are decided by every couple on an individual basis. Yes, I think some genders are predisposed to be better at some things than others but I don’t think that genitals should be an overarching determining factor in what role each person will play. (Some things, I realize, are just biology, though: the one with the vagina clearly has to give birth, etc ???? …have to say this for the nit picky people). I feel that men, women, and everyone in between are equal… just different—none is inherently better or more valuable than the other. All that being said, this is my men appreciation post ???? Cherish it ???????? Stay curious and keep exploring ✨ #almostevolved Photo: @shot.by.sean

Play with your kids, wake them up to music, help them to explore life, talk to them, allow them express what they’re feeling. Parenting is much more than just setting arbitrary rules for kids and then enforcing punishment when said rules are broken. For me, parenting is about guiding individuals who have a distinct life purpose—one that has nothing to do with ME. I think a lot of people make parenting about themselves and how they want this other person (their kid) to be. But that’s not the point of it at all. Our kids came to this life to create it the way that THEY need to create it. It’s THEIR evolutionary journey, not OURS. Once we relinquish that control, everything becomes easier (never “easy,” just easier ????) So enjoy your kids while they’re still kids ???? they’ll keep you young ✨???????? Gotta love a man who can be honest with himself about the need for change and improving self ???????????????? I posted about unhealed trauma yesterday so I felt it would be fitting today to talk about one of the ways to heal our unresolved traumas: therapy. There’s been a stigma around it for many years but it gives me sooo much joy to see that more and more people are seeking out help to heal. Yesterday I told my daughter and an IG friend this: what happens to us in childhood (or throughout life) may not be our FAULT but it becomes 100% our RESPONSIBILITY to heal ourselves. We can blame others for our woundings for the rest of our lives but what good does that do? We give our power away when we do this. We have to become powerful advocates in our own healing journey. If you missed yesterday’s post, check the last slide for therapy resources ???????? I pray that we can all have the courage to ask for help when we need it… it’s not weak—it’s the ultimate display of strength. Stay curious and keep exploring ✨ #almostevolved SN: DMing me telling me about your therapy experience will not actually cause me undress for you ????????????‍♀️ nice try, though.

It’s Thursday, right? #tbt Also, while you’re here ????…I’ve been thinking about pain lately. Don’t turn your back on pain. So many times, it seems like we live life to avoid pain at all costs. But pain, sadness, and disappointments are just as much a necessity in life as happiness, beauty, and peace. It’s called “balance.” What breaks us helps us to grow and expand. You can’t fully understand and appreciate happiness if you’ve never experienced sadness. There is not one without the other. Explore your pain. All emotions are acceptable—your emotions make you human. So unless you’re a psychopath, you’re going to feel a whole range of emotions during this life… allow them—without judgement. And allow others to feel their emotions. Our feelings are simply indicators of where we could possibly do more work, where changes need to be made, or how we know we’re right on target with our purpose. Be kind and gentle with yourself and others—we’re all doing our best ✨⚡️ Stay curious, keep exploring, and create your own happiness ♥️ #almostevolved Photo: @brown_sugar_ash_

Humans could’ve had such a beautiful little existence… just eating fruits, creating art, making love. Instead we created tax brackets, social security numbers and job titles ???? *sigh* But the beauty is: no matter what systems have been created, we have the power of CHOICE. We can choose to participate.. or not. AND we have the choice to participate in all of it—the manufactured systems and the “freedom”; we can pay taxes AND create art, we can work AND pursue our life’s purpose. Just trust the process of YOUR life… everything—every person and situation—you encounter is all a part of your evolutionary journey. Look for the lessons, grow, keep exploring, and repeat ???????? you can’t get it wrong. Stay curious, keep exploring, and create your own happiness ✨ #almostevolved Photo by: @rebeccannemorgan
