New hair, who dis?! All coolness aside, it's quite the opposite in Japan right now ? Summer here is from mid June - mid September, and is unbelievably hot and humid ? To cope with the heat, I got a haircut today. The fringe is back and the curls feel lighter than ever! ? . . . . . #japan #tokyo #newhaircut #curlyhair #indianinjapan #hairstyle #japansummer

A short family road trip from Nara to Shigaraki Town! It took about an hour to reach, but once we did, we were greeted by cute pottery raccoon dogs aka Tanuki. There are plenty of stores nearby that exhibit and sell Shigaraki ceramic pottery objects such as cups, teapots, flowerpots, plates, cutlery, garden sculptures and more. Is it worth a visit? Most definitely if you're someone who enjoys art, traditional ceramic objects, scenic driving routes and nature! ?✨ . . . . . #Shigaraki #shigarakitown #japanroadtrip #tanukijapan #tanuki #countryside

A wild Ho-Oh appeared on your feed! What you're looking at here is a Pokéfuta (Poke Lids in English). To give you a little more background, manhole covers in Japan include a special symbol that's native to a particular town or area. These Pokemon ones are fairly new and quite rare. I was fortunate to spot this legendary rainbow bird at Arashiyama Park in Kyoto. Love the vivid colours and detailing that's gone into this piece - it's a work of art! There are roughly 150+ Poke Lids all over Japan. They were designed to boost tourism in the lesser-known parts of the country. I don't know about you, but this Ho-Oh is giving me Pokémon Gold and Silver vibes ??? . . . . . #PokemonGold #Kyoto #Pokemonmanholes #Pokefuta #ArashiyamaPark #Japan #japan2021 #indianinjapan

Made some new friends at the pottery village of Shigaraki yesterday! The ware owls behind me are considered to bring luck and business prosperity. I also want to introduce you to the Shigaraki Yaki Tanuki (racoon dog figure) too! But that's a post for a new day. Stay tuned!? . . . . #shigarakitomura #japan2021 #indianinjapan #shigarakiowl #racoondog

Konnichiwa from Kyoto! On the way to my husband's hometown, we made an impromptu trip to the mystical bamboo forest in Arashiyama. The 500-meter emerald path has gigantic bamboos on both sides and each of them reaches around 30 meters in height. Walking through this dreamy forest makes me feel like I'm in a fantasy world! So quiet, so relaxing and so peaceful - definitely worth a visit! ??? . . . . #bambooforest #kyoto #kyotobambooforest #japan2021 #japanlife #indianinjapan

When one thinks of Kyoto, the #FushimiInariShrine and its vermilion torii gates immediately comes to mind. But let's say, for whatever reason, you could not manage to fit Kyoto into your itinerary. Don't sweat it - visit the #HanazonoinariShrine inside Ueno Park in Tokyo instead. It does offer a similar experience. The path to the shrine is lined with majestic red torii gates. Many couples and young adults believe that the shrine helps to grant marital harmony, fertility and find true love. While that may be true, I'm just content being here with my person ⛩️? . . . . . #japan #travelinjapan #tokyo #japaneseshrine #couplelife #kyoto #toriigate #japan2021 #indianinjapan

If you're going to be living in #Japan long-term, I think one of the best investments to make would be a cycle (preferably one with gears). After all, it's fun, eco-friendly, saves you money and keeps you in shape! More than scooters or motorbikes, you'll spot plenty of cycles here. The #mamachari, #minivelo, #Ebikes and #mountainbikes are few popular ones to check out. As for me, the Mini Velo has my ❤

I want to thank everyone who wished me on my birthday. Your thoughts and kind words mean the world to me. It was one of the best birthdays of my life! From cycling around sunny Tokyo to admiring futuristic digital art installations at @teamlab_borderless with my favourite person @mori_in_india - it was magical! ??
