Yesterday I had to hand in my book to the editor. I have a book deal at Penguin Random House with Storehouse Voices under The Crown imprint, same imprint as Prince Harry and Michelle Obama. In the book I break down how aggressive and determined the plaintiffs were in trying to stop funding from getting into the hands of Black women, WOC, women, and people of color as a whole. It’s not every day a NY Times Best Selling author includes your story in their book! When @kennedyryan1 was writing her next hit book “Can’t Get Enough” the @fearless.fund was hit with a federal lawsuit. She bravely decided to incorporate that into the journey of her main fictional character Hendrix. Even in the back of the book on the “Reading Group Guide” she explains the court case for the reader. Thanks @kennedyryan1 for bringing awareness to this very important social justice issue. Very grateful our case is permanently dismissed.

In August 2023, founder Arian Simone was thrust into a new kind of national spotlight when her Atlanta-based venture capital firm, Fearless Fund, was sued by the conservative nonprofit American Alliance for Equal Rights. The allegation? That one of the fund’s grant programs was racially discriminatory. It was a fight that Simone never saw coming. “I knew we were making history. I just didn’t know we were going to be making headlines,” she says. Even after a 13-month-long legal battle that became one of the most closely watched anti-DEI cases among a flurry of lawsuits waged in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down affirmative action, the Fearless Fund founder isn’t giving up on race-based funding.
