I am proud of everything we’ve created with #GuestListRadio and I’m especially proud of this one.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, @karenfairchild and @ohgussie join me for a powerful, candid and vulnerable conversation about our experiences as women and the change we want to see in country music and the world. All while honoring the beauty, strength and resilience of the women we work with both in front of and behind the scenes in music.

This episode includes AMAZING music from so many women we respect and admire (many of which are tagged in this photo).

And special thanks to my producers @radiogabby and @jacobpecunes for the heart you put into this one.

A year ago today Nashville woke up to a tornado that devastated parts of our city. Lives were lost. Friends homes and businesses were destroyed. A little over a week later the pandemic forced us into lockdown. A pandemic that has claimed lives and shut down the live events and touring industry resulting in millions of people in our community and beyond, losing their jobs and livelihoods in an a matter of days. There has been a loss of community and of relationships.

This year has brought so much loss. And today I’m feeling that loss. I’m feeling the grief that this year has brought. So many of my friends are feeling it and you may be feeling it too.

And at the same time, in looking back at these photos from the week of the tornado - especially this video with Greg - I’m holding onto HOPE. I’m reminded of the way this community came together to help their neighbor. I’m reminded of how by the time contractors who had been hired to clear trees and debris in the city arrived in Nashville from all over the country, there wasn’t work for them to do because volunteers had already done it.

So I’m feeling both spaces today. Feeling grief and holding onto hope. Hope that we will keep coming together to help our neighbors. Hope that there will be relief for those who are suffering. Hope that we will keep rebuilding. Hope for endless random acts of kindness. Hope that we will take the time to listen to, learn from and honor the experience of another human being - even if we don’t understand it. Hope that we will soon be able to get every person who has been out of work back to work - safely.

So if you are feeling this today, my prayer is that you would know that you are not alone. If you are feeling grief, I am praying HOPE would meet you right where you are. That you would get an unexpected call or text encouragement from someone right when you need it. You are loved my friend. You are so loved. #nashvillestrong
