Echo from beyond #45, 29,7 x 21 cm, unique. “Echo from Beyond” marks a new chapter in Bastiaan Woudt’s artistic exploration, where photography and artificial intelligence merge in a continuous dialogue between memory, vision, and technology. The project investigates how digital tools and intuitive processes can coexist, generating images that move fluidly between reality and imagination. Woudt employs AI both as a tool and a collaborator, capable of reinterpreting and expanding his photographic archive. Through this interaction, he creates works that combine existing elements with newly generated ones, blended and refined until they capture the essence of an idea, an emotion, or a vision. Each image becomes a meeting point between past and future, between the human gesture and the spontaneity of the machine. “Echo from Beyond” reflects on authorship and creativity in an era where artist and technology can co-create, giving rise to a new visual language — one that lives between dream, memory, and possibility. Tonight I open my exhibition Portraits of Music at @leicagalleryamsterdam. This project has been a long-held wish, born from my deep love for techno and my own background in music. Before photography, music was my first language, and it continues to shape how I see rhythm, atmosphere, and energy. With this series I bring those two worlds together, translating sound into image.
