Carrie Goforth, a proud mother of two, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and owner/founder of Bone & Body Wellness Center, while having been involved in modeling and athletics all her life, has had the opportunity to model for several fitness infomercials, advertisements and has modeled for gallery events. Carrie has had success on the fitness stage, in 2014 winning the Indiana State Title and her class in the Indiana Natural, continued placing in the top 5 at larger regional shows and made the decision to compete at the nationals in the Junior USA’s placing 7th in 2015. Having planned to compete in the Team Universe in Jersey several weeks later, Carrie injured her ACL while kickboxing before her show. Eight weeks after her ACL reconstruction, Carrie stepped back competing on the national stage in bodybuilding at the IFBB North Americans, placing 6th in the largest show (at that time) on record. Carrie continued her success at the national level but just missing her Pro Card on numerous occasions. As an advocate and promotion of health knowledge, Carrie educates patients on nutrition fitness and naturopathic medicine, “I use my position as an athlete and Medical Provider to empower women, mothers, and the general population to learn to love Themselves at every stage of life and to choose a healthy existence.” On her time away from the gym and office, Carrie enjoys spending time her two boys, which are into MMA and she use the opportunity to relieve stress and get a good sweat. Hip Hop and Zumba Dance classes are some of Carrie’s other hobbies. Say hello to Carrie Goforth, a proud mother of two, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and a fitness model & athlete. As a Nurse Practitioner, Carrie’s focus is on Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, as well as, on acute illness, gynecology, wellness promotion/illness prevention and patient education. Carrie’s enthusiasm and emphasis is nutritional counseling and fitness guidance as part of a holistic approach to lifestyle modification and disease prevention. Proud of her heritage, Carrie is of mixed origin, her mother immigrated from Poland and her father is an American Indian. “I love my heritage and am very proud of my culture, although it hasn’t always been convenient to be different.” Carrie’s father was a sprinter and a light-heavy boxer, and while Carrie has been an athlete all her life, she is a diabetic and has stage 3 glomerulonephritis. Nonetheless, Carrie works hard on her fitness and nutrition to build, and maintain her physique to be not only aesthetically pleasing but healthy and says, “Every day is a battle. Every achievement I obtain is to show my children and others that nothing can hold back a champion.” With outstanding achievements, Carrie has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisville graduating with a Cheerleader-2x National Champion Dean's Scholar, Dean's List and Golden Key. And has a Master of Science in Family Practice Nurse, also from University of Louisville, graduating with Dean's award for Highest Scholarship, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and North American Scholar Consortium.
