We are excited to launch a new initiative to help connect our guests with frontline hospital and essential workers in our city, who are showing up each day to fight this pandemic. ✨ We've teamed up with @give_shelterinplates to allow folks to gift a meal for frontline essential workers. Every meal gifted will be prepared at Blank Slate and delivered to hospitals in New York City.

Imagine that instead of “distancing” right now, you were leaving your home to care for and support critically ill patients, as well as other essential services. The doctors, nurses, techs and administrators do their work with courage, care, professionalism and selflessness. We want to help provide a way to show our support and nourish them, letting them know how much they are appreciated.

Our dear friends, it deeply saddens us to share that Blank Slate Tea will not be reopening. We have tried all that we could, but the pandemic got the best of us and we have no choice but to close our doors.

We are truly heartbroken and will miss our pretty-in-pink happy place. We enjoyed each and every day of serving you. From afternoon tea time to matcha Mondays - from countless rose lattes to towering tea tiers - we thank you for your support and smiles throughout the years.

A little bit of BST will live on at our sister cafes -@blankslatenyc- where we’ll be serving up Rose Lattes and some signature tea shop bites.

Hi cu-teas! We miss you all oh so much ? We wanted to share an update on our beloved tea shop. Sadly we continue to remain closed until further notice. We are hopeful that we will be able to reopen in some capacity early next year. We will be sure to keep you posted. We miss seeing those smiling faces brighten up our cafe each and every day.

Treat her to our Mother’s Day Brunch Package (including a tea tier with mini pastries, sandwiches and toasts, a selection of hot teas and our signature tea cookies and French macarons). We can even add on mimosas and a beautiful bouquet of flowers ?

Missing our Rose Tea Latte? So are we. Try making our signature sip at home. We shared our recipe (tweaked for ease at home) with @shape Magazine, check it out below. To read the full feature, click the link in our bio ?

Ingredients:
1 quart water
1 oz rose petals
A pinch of beetroot powder
1/2 oz hot water
1/2 oz rose water
2 oz milk (your choice)
Sweetener (such as brown simple syrup)

To make the rose concentrate: Bring the water to a boil in a medium pot. Remove from heat, add rose petals, and stir well to submerge. Steep for 5 minutes, stirring 2 to 3 times. Meanwhile, mix beetroot powder with hot water and whisk until dissolved. Strain petals. While the water is still hot, mix in the beetroot liquid and the rose water. Let cool before using.

To make the latte: In a small saucepan, combine 6 oz rose concentrate, 2 oz milk, and sweetener to taste. Heat over medium heat until steaming hot (but not boiling), stirring frequently. Remove from heat and blend with an immersion blender until frothy. Pour into a cup. Garnish with rose petals along one side.
