This lovely game arrived in the week, it’s been on Mrs BGMs wishlist for ages and now that stock has arrived again in the U.K. it was time to get it played.

With its fast gameplay we have already had 4 games. It’s a tile placement and set collection game where you place 1 tile a turn and then take one of 3 tiles available.

Each tile is one of six colours / patterns. You score points by meeting scoring requirements on the board, meeting a cats specific desire for certain patterned quilts or grouping patches in sets of 3 tiles of the same colour.

Each game has been different and I’ve really enjoyed the decision making involved in where to place the tile as well as managing the luck of the draw on the tiles.

After sharing last nights epic table filler I remembered I played YEDO over the weekend and we got to test our new LEVEL UP table! So much additional table space!

What games do you play that take up A LOT of space?

I’ve never played YEDO before and really enjoyed it. We played 4 player and my friend has all the additions like the deluxe version and mats. It looked awesome and everyone had a great time set collecting, bidding and planning the workers. Can’t wait to play again. @boundarystonegames @boardanddice

I think less known games deserve more love on IG so if you would like to see more like this let’s give LUX AETERNA some likes❤️ ??
⚙️⚙️⚙️⚙️⚙️⚙️⚙️⚙️
This weeks #mechanismsmonday is real time ending chosen by @pintsizedgamers !
⏲
Real time ending games usually have some kind of timer that ends the game after a set amount of time.
⏲
Lux Aeterna is a SOLO game where your ship is about to be sucked into a black hole ?!
You have 10 mins (hard) or 15 (easy) to restore your ships computer dashboards and get out of there!
⏲
You have six computer consoles that relate to power, life, comma, memory, navigation and engines. Dice represent the stability of these machines. Using your cards you can adjust the dice to improve or sometimes fail the systems.
⏲
Each round you draw 4 cards which are multi use which can be used as an event, action and speed!
⏲
Allocating one of the 3 cards to those actions allows you to manage your ship and save one card for the next round.
⏲
Once the timer is up you score based on if you survived, the state of your consoles etc.
⏲
Lux Aeterna is one of my favourite solo games and a game that is always packed in my bag when travelling. It’s fast, always different and plays incredibly well with problem solving a constant battle of making the best of a generally worsening situation.
