After my time running ultramarathons (I finished my last 50 miler a little less than 2 years ago and I ran the @davidgoggins 4x4x48 last March), my legs have been playing catch-up to my upper body. I’ve got some big goals this year and to pull them off, these legs are gonna need a good bit more size.

I don’t view it as a “weakness” or something holding me back. Leg day is by far my favorite training session right now and seeing my legs getting bigger by the week only adds more fuel to the fire. Having a pretty intense goal and challenge in front of me, but seeing progress being made is one of the greatest feelings. These legs may be playing catch-up right now, but trust me, they won’t won’t be lagging behind for long!

#flexfriday Currently sitting at 223lbs and still climbing. Pretty much every set of every movement has had progression every session and I’m extremely grateful. Everything is clicking and this offseason is off to an incredible start.

This definitely wouldn’t be possible without putting as much attention into my recovery as I do my training and nutrition. Rest days have been full rest days (literally just napping, eating A LOT, stretching, etc). My stretching routine is in place and @ruthwuerchfitness and I are getting massages this weekend (definitely needed). I’m back to full consistency with my daily meditation practice and it’s already made a difference. Let’s keep this rolling????

It’s a MUCH needed rest day today. Here’s the current morning look a little over 5 weeks post show. We’re up 36lbs as of this morning. Current fasted weight is 218.2lbs and the stage weight (before water cut) was 182lbs at just under 5’8. I’m holding a bit of water, but that’s to be expected with the weight jump. I’ve been putting in crazy amounts of work over the last few weeks, but this is by far the craziest gains I’ve made. It’s like newbie gains all over again.

Don’t be afraid to go against the grain. Throughout my life and even more specifically bodybuilding, I’ve listened to my gut and relied on MY OWN research rather than just automatically following the status quo of what everyone else does.

Be a student of your craft. Invest in the education of it and don’t be afraid to experiment. Sometimes you’ll be wrong, but now you’ll know what not to do. Other times, you’ll discover things that will propel you further and faster than you thought possible.
