The rejuvenating power of good food with good friends. Though I don’t understand how it has only been a week since I met @jessonthames @annaglennpearce and @steffi_daydreamer for an incredible lunch @bratrestaurant, I am thankful the feel good vibes from it remain ☺️

gift | My body is about 90% tacos right now and that is not going to change in the foreseeable future. Thank you @provenancebutcher for being an enabler with your Cinco de Mayo inspired BBQ kit.

Updating my portfolio should not be a 6+ months project but here I am still toiling over it because I keep getting lost in Lightroom reminiscing over past travels.

These were taken in Xian in 2017 when we had just finished a half day @lostplatefoodtours and were full to the brim. Still I couldn’t help but gravitate towards the towering bamboo steamers of baos. I think eating while walking is frowned upon in some places but it is what I loved doing most in Xian’s Muslim Quarter.

It’s funny how memory works. I can’t remember most of last week but can recall with startling detail my first sushi experience so many years ago with @alisonchangphoto at a tiny Japanese restaurant that could only fit three tables. I remember I didn’t waste any time with California rolls and went straight for sashimi like Alison recommended. I remember we were worried about a big paper we had to work on for junior year History class. I remember we went to Dunkin Donuts for an iced coffee coolata afterwards. This is all to say, I cannot wait to make more memories in restaurants again with friends.

While I’m getting too excited for restaurants to open up again I hope all the wonderful delivery options that have popped up over the last 12 months are here to stay. (I’m looking at you @blacklockchops with your addictive pork chops and white chocolate cheesecakes.) I’ve just gotten too good at speed ordering delivery and not feeling an ounce guilty about going on a cooking strike.

On another note, I hope I’ll be seeing many of you on the other side of lockdown. Just promise me I won’t be the only one giving off caveman vibes ✌?

PR gift / What you don't often hear about in the food photography business is how difficult the work is. I don't mean the technicality of it or the creative energy and stamina it requires. I'm talking about the sheer will to not say screw it and devour everything in sight before firing off a few shots ?

Having said that I found the @classicdeli_uk Valentine's Day hamper so inspiring that I dug deep and took my time styling & translating my idea of what date night looks like at home into images. Food and the act of preparing it is love; and while fancier foods is not an adequate measure of affection I find it is a happy chance to break up the monotony especially when we've all been cooped up indoors for quite some time.

If you're looking to treat yourself, friend, partner this Valentine's Day (or any other day since love should be celebrated any time any where) have a look @classicdeli_uk's hamper offering, there was nothing I didn't love in their selection.
