9 months pregnant vs 9 months postpartum ???? Slow and steady is my postpartum secret to success. I'm currently in a maintenance phase and I’ve never been been super strict about what I eat or when I eat. I try to do a 14 hour fast most days but not all the time. I’m still exclusively nursing! I carb cycle a few times a month. BUT I do NOT skip my 30 minute FASTer Way strength workouts 3x a week (and Peloton 20-30 min rides 2x a week) and to me that's my secret to reaching and maintaining this happy healthy self confident body I have 9 months after Elle was born. It's not a goal weight because I haven't weighed myself since June but I feel good in my clothes. I don't have food guilt. I eat what I want which includes a balanced diet of oatmeal, salads and grain bowls but also pizza and Chinese food on occasion and treats daily. I am not currently tracking macros but I do occasionally. I try to balance my meals with carbs, fats and protein and aim to hit 100G of protein a day. My snacks are carbohydrate based as just fat or just protein leaves me wanting more. We take 2 days to lower our carbs (not NO carbs), and the rest of the days we load up on carbs! Keeps that body guessing and burning fat!⁣ It's not restrictive and to be honest, most of my clients like lower carb days MORE and find it harder to hit their carb goals. ⁣ Strategic workouts: Yes there’s always a method to our madness. Our workouts are paired strategically with our nutrition days in order to maximize fat burn. They are 30 minutes, effective and all you need!⁣ Sure you can do your workouts but ours are better, I promise. You can actually do a guided workout, watching whatever you want on Disney+, including The Eras Tour. You of course can watch any TV show you want on most networks these days through YouTube or Netflix but since I am a Swiftie, this is of particular interest to me. Here’s how you do it ⬇️ First, select entertainment on your peloton bike screen. You may need to login if this is the first time you’re doing it. Next, select The Era’s Tour to play. May I recommend the Reputation era for your next workout? ???? Then select guidance at the top. You will be able to choose from beginner rides, hill rides, hiit and hills or just hiit. This one’s for my wellness rebel moms, former over-exercisers, and science believing girlies who just want to feel strong, eat real food, and raise healthy kids without spiraling into obsession. I challenge a lot of my clients to rethink their goals. It shouldn’t be about a number on the scale, but how you feel. The goal should be self confidence, optimizing how you look and feel. I tell my clients, “I get that you have high standards for yourself, and it’s my job to help you get there but it’s also my job to help you realize that sometimes if you have to seriously restrict yourself to reach a certain goal it’s not going to be sustainable or fun to stay there.” If you have a “normal” bodyweight but belly fat to lose, chances are you are “under muscled,” doing too much HIIT or have hormone issues (from under eating and/or over exercising). It’s often not about weight loss. We look to burn fat, build muscle and your body composition changes. You get to eat more and enjoy life while feeling like a babe. You may just need a plan that works with your hormones, not against them. Sometimes this means eating more food and exercising less.
