Manifesting positive change! ✨?This is a little corner in our apartment that I used to write, meditate, and do my spiritual practice. For those of you following my stories these past few weeks, you know that I'm moving this month (in just a few days, actually! ?) We've outgrown our space, and decided to take the plunge with something slightly bigger in Jersey City, right across the river! But don't worry... it's closer to NYC than most people think, so I'll still have plenty of city content for you. Big changes are often bittersweet for me, and it takes some time to get my bearings in new situations... that's why I know I might be a little absent for a couple more weeks until we're settled. One of my favorite things? Watching the city come alive in the spring with flowers, blooms, and greenery. Who else is living for this? ??? The only thing I DON’T love about it? My allergies. How to find cool photography spots: Part II ?? I have 4 more tips for you ➡️ A lot of you told me that you’ve used the tips I posted yesterday (did you read them? If not, check out my last post!) But sometimes you can’t find any inspiration, and you’ve got to get creative. So here’s some ideas to get the ball rolling for you: 1️⃣ Look for things that stand out. Things that wouldn’t see every day, like a cool building or striking decor. Instagram loves things that are larger than life! It catches people's attention in the feed and stops the scroll. 2️⃣ Look for things that create a feeling. For instance, I’m a sucker for lights. The glow always feels special to me, so I loved them in the background in this photo ✨✨ (PS, I also added the fake sky in this shot to help create a certain feeling ?... be on the lookout for that tutorial tomorrow!) 3️⃣ Don’t just focus on one unique detail... look for multiple pleasure points. What is a pleasure point? It’s simply a thing that makes you feel good. So if you love morning coffee, that’s certainly a pleasure point. But what if you paired that morning coffee with some gorgeous flowers, a book, two tasty-looking pastries, and a lady staring out a window with beautiful hair? People are going to love it five times as much! 4️⃣ Look for places that your followers will be able to picture themselves, or doing something they'd like to do. Do they want to be hiking? Sitting around a fire pit with friends? Cuddling up in a nice robe, clean white hotel blankets, with a breakfast-in-bed setup? ?☕️ That’s the beauty of Instagram... it’s your job to show yourself doing those things so that your audience can see themselves there too ☺️ How do YOU find the perfect photo background, even if you're not in an ‘Instagrammable’ location?

I’m going to miss the 5 minute walks to coffee and brunch, and 20 minute train rides to Grand Central. I’ll miss the personal growth I had while living in this space. The music students I taught. And the inspiration I felt as I leaned fully into Instagram as a platform for creativity and making money. I thank this space. When I moved there, I was depressed and aimless. By the time I left, I finally felt comfortable in my own skin, and my place in the world. And now, I’m ready for our next adventure in a new apartment (and city, but it’s not that far!)???? (PS, if you haven’t been watching my stories, I’ve been giving sneak peeks of our new place!)

Here's 3 ways to look for GREAT PHOTOGRAPHY SPOTS while traveling ? 1️⃣ Take a look at the location tags and get creative with them! ? Not only will you want to look at the city or town, but neighborhoods, streets, and whatever specific place you're looking to go (restaurant, landmark, etc.) First, scroll through the top-ranking photos. These will probably be your best bet, because they're the shots that have gotten the most engagement (which already tells you that people like it!) Then, look at the most recent photos to see if you can come up with more ideas! 2️⃣ Does the location have its own Instagram account? If you're going to a hotel that you haven't been to, for example, check out what photos they've already posted. Often they'll have professional photography shots up. This is great because it gives you an idea of the best angles to shoot! 3️⃣ One of my all-time favorite ways of finding cool shoot locations is checking out other influencers and bloggers in the area! ?‍♀️ Trust me- your fellow content creators are the best detectives when it comes to finding the most photogenic spots. Especially if they're local. I like to find them through hashtags. If I'm looking at NYC creators, I'd look through tags like #nycinfluencer and #nycblogger for example.
