The McLaren F1 GTR Longtail: so good it’s criminal! One of only 28 F1 GTRs built and one of just 10 configured in 1997-specification McLaren F1s in longtail form, this example was delivered new to esteemed Ferrari Collector David Morrison’s Parabolica Motorsports Team. It was victorious on its race debut in the 1997 British GT Championship at Silverstone; the first race win for a longtail-bodied F1 GTR. Incredibly, that’s not the important part of the story, though, as that part contains fraud, prison, and a man on the hunt for his second F1... This incredible car is now part of RM Sotheby’s Sealed Bid Auction, with an estimate of $18,000,000 to $21,000,000 USD. As usual, Hagerty-owned @broadarrow_auctions brings an impressive selection to its annual Amelia Island Auction, taking place on March 6th and 7th, 2026. The absolute highlights of the event will be auctioned off on the first day – a selection of five hyper- and supercars from the world’s most prestigious manufacturers that were almost impossible to acquire when new and originate from the same private collection. They’re all preserved in excellent condition and, with the exception of one vehicle, have had only one owner so far. What would you pick?

The @mercedesbenz SL 500 was and still is the ultimate nineties boulevard cruiser. The R129 generation is a prime example of timeless design. Thanks to a minor facelift, the comfort-oriented German roadster still looked fresh when it was discontinued in 2001 – 12 years after the initial debut of this Bruno Sacco masterpiece. Some might even call the R129 slightly too understated, especially when it left the factory in Brilliant Silver or Obsidian Black. Something you definitely can’t say about this 1998 SL 500 currently offered by L’Art de l’Automobile: this exception to the norm is an exceptionally well-preserved Designo spec in a spectacular color combination. It feels as though it has been in a time capsule since it was delivered new to Sweden in 1998, also because it has only covered a mere 33,500 kilometers in 28 years. What makes it irretrievable isn’t just the mileage, but the sheer audacity of its configuration: an exterior finished in the ultra-rare Edison Green Metallic, paired with an interior that can only be described as a greenish fever dream. From the leather inserts to the tinted carbon fiber on the center console and the door cards, the cockpit is bathed in emerald hues. The first owner pushed the Designo catalog to its absolute limits. Trigger warning: This Ferrari 355 restomod aims for your ears! Taking the idea of the perfect 355 and bringing it to reality is all part of @evoluto_automobili’s plan, who have now confirmed after an extensive effort focussing on the car’s engineering integrity and durability has now been signed-off and will head into production. A total of 55 examples are set to be produced, with first arrivals landing at the end of this year. Evoluto’s re-engineered 3.5-litre V8 now delivers 420 PS at 8,000 rpm and 370 Nm of torque, while retaining a 8,500 rpm rev limit, while the cars geometry and suspension has been completely reworked for that ultra-modern feel, while retaining the car’s iconic looks.

With only 500 examples built, the McLaren Senna is one of the most exclusive cars of the last decade. The most radical competition version, the Senna GTR LM, takes it to another level — with 845 wild horses over the standard GTR’s 825 hp, an optimized torque curve, and a rev limit increased to 9,000 rpm. Its Le Mans version V8 is claimed to be even more responsive and free-revving than the already glorious powertrain of the other Senna variants.   This one-owner car is one of just five Senna GTR LMs ever built and wears the famous Harrods livery — an homage to the McLaren F1 GTR that finished third at the 1995 24 Heures du Mans. The hand detailing took over 800 hours. An additional Senna GTR engine, specific wet-weather tires and wheels are also included, offered by UK specialists @romansinternational who can make this unique Senna GTR LM road legal if wished for.
