After 8 flawless years of flying, it finally happened… Full tilt into a tree branch during a beautiful personal shot of some rural ramblers during sunset. What a way to go. Yeeted the battery during the “landing” so it took over an hour to find in the tall lowcountry brush. The drone took one last second emergency b&w photo of the horizon before that happened which GREATLY helped finding it. A fitting farewell to find my airborne buddy. Honestly it’s kinda sad, but given the wonderful images and joy this drone has given me over the years, it was well worth it. Maybe I’ll frame this one like my first Canon L lens?!?
