Happy Sunday. Your very friendly reminder that you don’t have to do sh*t to be ā€œdeserveā€ whatever foods you’re craving. So often we shame ourselves for lazy days or get upset we weren’t productive or didn’t move our bodies, thinking if we were a potato all day we aren’t deserving of as much food that day or the next. We aren’t on this earth to be robots, the beauty of this existence is also allowing yourself to just BE. Knowing that’s beautiful also. You don’t have to be productive at all times to be worthy, in fact it’s only going to lead to burn out. As I’ve been sick this past week this has been a huge reminder, we think we shouldn’t be giving our body as much when we aren’t moving-but your body NEEDs the fuel to continue fighting for you, and please show it the love it deserves!

One thing I wish I was told when I first started training: don’t mfing neglect upper bodyā€¼ļøā€¼ļø First, it’s unbelievably sexy Second, it’s imperative for maximizing your training/maintaining proper form etc. you can’t build a strong lower without a strong upper! Have you done an RDL and felt your upper body giving out on you? Or you feel you can’t hold the weight against your body? This is when injury can happen (plus you aren’t getting the maximum benefit out of the exercise) So don’t forget to train your upper (and yes lift heavy!! I was terrified to do so as I thought it would make me look bulky, but only aided in building a ā³). Plus the more muscle, the more we aid our metabolic rate! & here’s a full quick back workout 3 x 12 rope pullover 3 x 10 bent over row superset with 3 x 8 single arm bent over row 3 x 10 pulldowns 3 x 12 seated row

Some things I wish I knew when I started my fitness journey????ā¤µļø My workouts centered around doing random machines or exercises I saw online, I felt horrible about myself if I didn’t end my workout with 100 crunches because I thought that was what you had to do, I was horrified to do certain movements out of fear of failure, and I thought if I wasn’t sore that meant I had to change things up. The best thing you can do is focus on a couple movements and rep ranges (4-6) per lift, focus on form/control, and focus on improvement as listed in the video each week for 4-8 weeks. You don’t need 1000s of ab crunches as you are working your core in every movement-in fact compound lifts are one of the best core exercises. Lastly everyone has started off not knowing what to do. Everyone has had to learn how to use a machine, how to preform a squat, and we all are still learning. It’s a forever journey, so never be embarrassed where you’re at. Be proud you’re showing up.

Who else????ā˜ ļø????2022 is tryna tussle already, but there’s always a comeback after a setback???? It can be incredibly disheartening when you FINALLY feel motivated, set your goals, and then something comes up that shifts everything If you are currently like me and starting off the new year sick or having health stuff come up (or your period, that always takes me out lmao)-know that your health is #1 priority always. It’s the most important thing you have-reframe your mindset. Taking care of your body and health IS the goal. Know that time off won’t hurt your progress, and it’s normal to have to build back up to things in the gym. It may take some time and that’s okay, it’s just a blessing to be able to be there and move! Health is wealth so treat your body GOOD more important than anything

If you are sitting there scrolling right now thinking of all the things you have to do to ā€œbe betterā€: this is your sign to remember that the most beautiful gift that you have on this Earth is that no one is you. Then the thoughts arise ā€œya well I wish I was someone else, or looked how they looked.ā€ This creates a thought that we are only deserving of the love we want if we look a certain way. What happens when you age and your body shifts? What if you get very sick and go through physical changes? Are you not deserving of love then? The real power lies in recognizing that no one is you in any capacity-Your soul, the way you love, the way you cry, the way your eyes light up at your favorite song or your favorite smell, the way you think..the list is endless. We spend time wishing we were others, without recognizing it’s pretty cool that there’s no one else on this planet that can be you. That we have a body we are able to experience life in..and we are able to build a version of ourselves that bring us joy. You are deserving of love that sees you for YOU, the soul within that beautiful unique exterior of yours. And it’s most important you show that to yourself. Excuse my French but screw anyone who doesn’t see it-and if nobody has told you they love you for you I’m tellin ya right now. Have a beautiful nightā¤ļø

Stepping into my power and my mfing MISSION this year @thesculptyou app is now available on the App Store and Google Play for iPhone/Android???????? I spent my lunch breaks at work (& every time I went to the bathroom…which lets just say with IBS it was often????) putting together my vision for Sculpt You. My commute was 2 1/2 hours per day but I remember it going by so fast..It was the only time in the day I could really think without any distractions. I remember my eyes lighting up as I listened to podcasts knowing within my heart I was aligning with my mission. All I knew is I wanted to provide the most affordable and accessible health and wellness program on the market. 3 years later and we are just getting started. This is just the beginning (& base) of what’s to come, and I can’t wait for y’all to see all my ideas because they are not about to be anywhere else. For those struggling to afford/put together meals, those who struggle with nutrition/training, Moms struggling with movement and how to nourish their minds + bodies, those struggling mentally, ANYONE..I promise you that I am going to do everything in my power to change your life and make things easier/more accessible for you. (And no the program will never ever go over $9) Can’t even express my gratitude for my Sculpt You team & family as I wouldn’t have gotten to this point without you all-thank you for believing in me and I promise this is just the beginning!

One of the most difficult parts of split squats: maintaining your balance That and the fact that your legs burn so bad you don’t know if you’re ever going to get up from the ???? again Split squats are a HUGE core movement: which is why I always speak on the fact that you don’t need to be doing a million crunches, you’re preforming lots of ab work during your core movements Properly bracing your core is not only going to protect your back but it’s going to be massive for stabilizing you during this movement Other few tricks: pretend there is a hand right on the outside of your knee and you have to push against it during the movement. Going to help your knees from caving in AND fire up those ???? more Play with your foot positioning where you feel most stable. And don’t afraid to use a pole or squat rack or anything next to you for support as you learn the movement and get stronger with it (and your body will also as it learns it!ā¤ļø)
