That’s my mom, my hero, and source of great inspiration. ????

Being born with down syndrome, people didn’t want to give me opportunities. Some would usually look down on me and underestimate my skills and abilities. My mom taught me to fight back and CREATE what I wanted and deserved for myself. There aren’t a lot of job opportunities for people with down syndrome and disabilities so I sought to create the opportunities for myself and others.

She’s the woman behind my success as an entrepreneur and human being. And she’ll be sharing her precious tips with all parents of children with down syndrome and disabilities TOMORROW, Jan 21st, at 3 pm EST.

Will you join us?

Email Rosemary@Colletteys.com for more info and to book your place.

I was that 1 in 700 births and very proud of it!

Society has this weird tendency to objectify or stereotype down syndrome people, treating them like a homogeneous group rather than individuals with personal goals, dreams, and difficulties. But I want to say out loud that we’re people, we’re different from each other, and we deserve our place in the world just like everyone else.

My mom believed that and helped me become the successful woman I am today. I want to do the same for all those people out there who are born with a disability and think that it’s a limit to what they can achieve. It is not, trust me! The only limit is in the mind.

Would you like to be part of the change and help me build a better world for differently-abled people? Visit my website and find how you can support my mission.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today I want to commemorate an important person in American history and a hero to me and to all those people who cherish freedom, justice and love.

Thanks Dr. Martin Luther King Jr for all you’ve done in your life and for your message of hope that continues to live in our hearts. Today and forever, we remember.

Poet Yeats once said that “Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire.” And that’s precisely what I love to do when I’m not at the bakery making cookies.

I’m not interested in passing on notions and recipes for success. Yes, I have my share of experience with failure and rejection, as well as victory and great business intuitions. I’m more than willing to share all that with those who could learn from it. But this is only a tiny part of what coaching involves for me.

What I’m really really interested in is lighting the fire within my students, amazing them with the discovery of their true potential, and nurturing their confidence to rise and claim their place in the world.

If you want to support my mission and help differently-abled people become successful in their professional and private lives, keep ordering online from Collettey’s Cookies or visit us to find how to get involved.

I know it’s Saturday, but there’s so much work to do at Collettey’s that I cannot just stay still. It’s exciting, exhilarating, and ohhh so fun!

I love baking, as you know, but sometimes I feel like my place is behind my laptop, thinking about how I can change the world one cookie at a time or designing a new course for my Collettey’s Leadership Program.

I dedicate myself fully to my mission of ending inequality and empowering differently-abled people to find a fulfilling job and live their best life possible. They deserve the best, so here I am on a Saturday, working to make a difference, no matter how big or small.

Would you like to make a difference too? Visit my website and find how to get involved in my projects.

Sometimes our goals seem like impossible and distant dreams. That’s ok! Dreams are meant to inspire us and motivate us to move forward each and every day.

Dreams are also powerful because they help us be creative and imagine new ways of doing things, new worlds to build, new paths to follow. Think about Walt Disney and his famous quote: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” These are the words of a man who built a media empire on a dream!

So, don’t get discouraged if your dream has not come true yet. Keep dreaming you can, keep working hard, and you’ll succeed. ????
