A few images from CAM + GLYN's wedding in Mississippi that I (Daniel) shot alongside Robby of @followellfotography These days, I have been coaching other photographers more than shooting weddings myself, so this was a good opportunity to make sure I was applying the techniques I share as a coach. Dedicating ourselves to the best framing possible, in every situation, is what makes a big difference between slideshow worthy vs not worthy image. In this particular scene, a casual yoga practice the morning of the wedding, Daniel captures the moment just in case it ends rapidly, and then spends a few more seconds adjusting the framing and spacing among the subjects, to bring the image into the best version it can be. This clip is from the group coaching that Daniel holds twice a month. Each call is different, and in this last one, he dove deep into breaking down his own work from a wedding in Mexico.

A preview from JENNIFER + GARHETT's wedding in Samara, Costa Rica. Yep, you read that right! We photographed our very first wedding in the little town of Samara, where we've been living for nearly 3 years. Jennifer and Garhett have been visiting here for many years, and invited their friends & family to join them for a celebration at one of Samara's most iconic hangout spots, Las Olas. It was so special for us to work in such a familiar setting, and to see Samara's casual and festive atmosphere carry over into a wedding!

A preview from STEFF + ALEX’s wedding in Tulum, this past weekend. When I (Daniel) received Steff’s email a few months ago, asking us if we would consider coming out of retirement to photograph her wedding, it was an immediate full-body YES. She started by talking about all of the elements they wanted to include in their intimate celebration (sound bath, sacred fire, mayan rituals), which all felt very much in line with the practices we value in our daily life in Costa Rica. More importantly though, they were expecting the birth of their daughter in the fall, which only made their wedding that much more special. While many couples might pause (rightfully so!) at the idea of having a destination wedding with a 4-months old, Steff and Alex leaned in. Kaia’s presence brought even more meaning, more joy, and more presence to the entire weekend, and for me, as a photographer, a really special story to document. I am so grateful to have been there, and for the opportunity to reconnect with wedding photography in such a magical setting.
