Donated almost the entire contents of my Calabasas house to Habitat for Humanity the other day, including all my furniture, antiques, artwork, etc. it was a large estate donation and I was happy to help a worthy cause However, they repeatedly promised to take photographs of everything I had donated for tax purposes, yet they never bothered to do so. In addition, they failed to document many items donated. When we approached the Habitat for Humanity manager, they basically told us “too bad“. Before you proceed with a large scale donation, make certain you have in writing the type of documentation they will provide you for tax purposes. Just thought I’d throw that out there for anyone intending to donate on a larger scale! By the time we sent our employee down to photograph everything, they had already placed our donations on their show room floor of their store. I have been a long-time donor to many charities and I will never stop giving to those in need. People often ask about the psychology behind Instalurking. The reasons are multifaceted. Some follow others obsessively, refusing to like posts or comment as a form of passive aggression. Typically these people believe they are anonymous and are seemingly oblivious to the fact that you can easily identify who has viewed your posts/stories. Others are just bored and never comment or like by virtue of habit. Personally, I try to comment when I have a moment to view people stories and posts, but don’t always have time to do so. This can leave one with low level angst, as one might feel they are not supporting others on social media sufficiently. However, everyone has time limitations and algorithms are set up so that only certain people that you have previously commented on/liked appear in your feed. This is another issue for people. If you have a high number of contacts, it’s even more problematic trying to comment or like everyone’s posts. Bottom line is, it is typically only when someone has a chronic habit of consistently viewing your stories/posts and refusing to ever comment or like that there is likely an issue. One has a couple of options: either block them or ignore. Either way, try you best to not let it affect your happy! Great time at Lake Arrowhead! A few things to note in considering travel there: Great for a very relaxed vibe, can walk to the charming Village from Resort, lovely kayaking, hiking, waterskiing, decent restaurants, gorgeous naturescape. etc. Also, Kuffel Canyon is just gorgeous! We felt very grateful to be able to get out of town in the midst of Covid to somewhere in nature with fresh air and plenty of opportunity for social distancing. ??? However, in retrospect, we would have preferred to rent a home as opposed to staying at the Lake arrowhead resort. However, we booked last minute and there was no availability to rent a home. Lake arrowhead resort was poorly maintained (trash/dirty laundry in halls for days) and the customer service was definitely lacking. There were a few stand out employees that deserve kudos and the food at the restaurant Bin 189 was good. However, overall they botched it. They did not provide even the minimum of customer service. We realize Covid presents challenges and our demands were limited. However, they were completely lacking even the basics. Simple requests for clean sheets or towels were ignored repeatedly. Phone staff was rude and Management was unresponsive. Ultimately we checked out early. We absolutely love Lake arrowhead for its charm and natural beauty and would definitely recommend renting a home here. Nailed it by day 3! First day was challenging due to lots of wind, very cold water and no wet suit/gloves. Despite the difficult conditions, Quin got up on his second run and his friend Weston was not long behind him. By day three they were both skiing surprisingly well and even attempted to ride the wakes! ? if you get up to Lake Arrowhead, definitely try the ski school for yourself and your kids.
