Behind a special place, there are special people. Behind @khaoyai_art_forest and @bangkok_kunsthalle , we find @marisalogue_ and @stefano_rabolli_pansera , who embody this rule perfectly. Yesterday we spent a whole day in the forest that hosts some wonderful pieces: Fujiko Nakaya’s ‘Fog Forest’ (indescribable experience), @elmgreenanddragsetstudio K-Bar (open one day a month, and the second-only private architecture piece by the duo in the world), Francesco Arena’s @arena1906 40ton ‘God’ sculpture, Richard Long’s Madrid Circle and more. Today we were catapulted into a parallel world at the Kunsthalle. A well curated mix of custom interventions (bravo again Founding Director Stefano!!!) and a selection of works acquired from the Panza Collection. Well worth the trip. And some exciting news coming soon! Stay tuned.

Fertile is a project founded by @lucacremona , @edoardomonti and @sole.castelbarco , located inside a former glass factory, a few steps away from Brescia’s city center. The new space, created as an expansion and evolution of @palazzomonti , is a multidisciplinary hub dedicated to artistic production, hosting short and long-term artist studios and exhibitions. To welcome visitors, a private courtyard of 120 square meters, conceived as an area of dialogue and socialization between artists, curators and the public. Install shots from ‘Presently Fragmented’, a show I curated for @hurstcontemporary in London with @aishachristison, @pippa.elkadhi.brown, @harrietgillettart, @catherinelowestudio and @rannymac. The artists are a mix of past and future alumni of @palazzomonti. The show will be on view through March 5th 2025. “As suggested by the title, the group show explores a variety of compelling themes related to fragmented identities in the digital age, the tension between community and isolation in modern society and the coexistence of past, present, and future in the human experience, visualized as fragmented timeframes within a single composition. In Presently Fragmented, a group of figurative painters comes together to explore the fractures and complexities of contemporary existence. Fragmentation, as both a concept and experience, permeates modern life—from the splintered nature of identity in an increasingly digital world to the ways history, memory, and physical spaces are perceived and understood. Through their diverse approaches, these artists interrogate what it means to exist in a world that is simultaneously interconnected and fractured, personal and universal, permanent and transient. Sublimated, a solo exhibition by @MarcoDeSanctis_ and curated by me, is now on view at @DauwensBeernaertGallery in Brussels. More details to follow! “The notion of Time holds crucial importance in the work of Marco De Sanctis. Time, in its hourly and meteorological sense, is not just an abstract dimension but a tangible and quantifiable reality, intrinsically linked to the creative process and the intimate experience evoked by his works. Each work by De Sanctis is the result of continuous overlays and reinterpretations, of patiently executed interventions on already existing pieces. This process marks the passage of time, creating new traces, new memories, and new images that further enrich the meaning of the work. The works are never static but in continuous evolution, reflecting the flow of time and the mutability of human experience. Each mark, each intervention is a fragment of captured time, a moment made eternal through the artistic gesture. De Sanctis’s ability to merge different techniques and make the artistic object interact with its surrounding environment ensures that each work becomes a complex and layered narrative, an open dialogue between past, present, and future. Paper, acid, marble, water, lemons, poison, tin, wax, smoke, heat, fire. De Sanctis’s practice, as a conceptual director and practical executor, assigns a specific role to each moment of the creative process. Just like distinct actors, so too his works, the public, collectors, time, and the artist himself assume active and passive roles. The concept of the work fully embraces its dual meaning: artistic object and scenic action. In front of the Marines, old canvases restored and reworked, we are forced to complete the incomplete picture. In I-sword, the buyer decides how long to let the candle burn, a cast of a swordfish head, and only then is the final step of the production process realized, namely its casting in bronze. Three days in the mountains, celebrating our lesser-known heritage and culture at Campo Base Festival Adamello @projectcampobase. Music, art, food, workshops, hikes - discovering a world nearby our cities. There are not just Dolomites and Mont Blanc in Italy! @LucaCremona and @claraaqua__ curated a fantastic show by @viniciusjaymevallorani, with ceramics, metal sculptures, paintings and a huge canvas scattered across the forests and villages. @spettr00 made us dance, while local legend Italo Bigioli played horns and drums in the local church - a very powerful experience. Congrats to the founder @nicola_giuliani_ and the rest of the incredible team that made this possible <3
