❣️?ANXIETY?❣️ . I’ve not been having a fun time the last few days... For no reason yesterday I started stressing out about events that would likely never happen.... Completely fabricated, unlikely, worst case scenarios... there isn’t always an event or circumstance that brings it on and it can be quite the roller coaster ? . However I am NOT a SUFFERER, I am a MANAGER. Whilst I can’t always stop it, my anxiety does NOT OWN me ❣️ . The first thing I ever did was ASK for HELP. I went to my GP and we discussed medications as well as management techniques. Be BRAVE enough to ask for help ❣️ whilst I don’t take medications anymore there are lots of behavioural things I do to stay on top of it ❣️ . BE MINDFUL: Recognise the physical and mental symptoms of anxiety so you can act appropriately. Anxiety isn’t just how you think, the brains response to stress flooding the nervous system with hormones/chemicals can make you feel dizzy, shakey, and often nauseous too. Take a time out if you need it! I had to stop training yesterday cause I got so bloated ? HAVE A SUPPORT TEAM: have at least someone you can turn to and say IM NOT OKAY, because it’s okay to not be okay all the time. WHAT IS IN YOUR CONTROL: if something or an event is stressing you out what little things can you do right now to ease that stress? If it’s completely out of your control make a plan to manage its impacts. BREATHE: take some deep breaths, some time out, step away if you need to, you aren’t being selfish, looking after yourself is never selfish DIET AND EXERCISE: the self confidence from looking after my health was one of the biggest turning corners to managing my mental health - find a positive place to invest your energy NEVER STOP ASKING FOR HELP: and be willing to help yourself, this can be the hardest thing sometimes but always the most important ❣️ . OFFSEASON diet vs PREP DIET what should change? . . Not much really! Obviously you’d be increasing calories to build your metabolism back up and make some gains but what you are eating should still be good nutritious food to help you reach your goals! Weight gain can be a struggle post comp but if you’re building great shapes and you’re looking after your body inside and out it’s really hard to feel bad about yourself ❤️ . . I’ve only just recently stumbled across this and I can honestly say I am NOT HAPPY with mine! Now I know 50% of it would be my own posts and responses as well as research and learning from some of the amazing fitness pages I follow and of course connecting with my followers and my friends ❤️ BUUUUT and that’s a big BUT I feel like I’ve just seen a lot of lost minutes I can’t get back... . So just some thoughts I’ve been having to try and turn this around ?... 1️⃣ what did you do with this time before? 2️⃣ what accounts are you following and are they worth your time? 3️⃣ how could this time be better spent? 4️⃣ would you survive if your social media ceased to exist? 5️⃣ is it taking away from your real life relationships? . This list could literally be endless... WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH ALL THOSE LOST MINUTES IF YOU COULD GET THEM ALL BACK? . Ps .
