Coincidentally, my 2021 membership packet from the AMA arrived this week, making me miss @magiccastlehollywood even more than I already did. Hoping to return to castle life soon. ? When you look at performance artists, it quickly becomes clear if a performer is just going through the motions or if they genuinely enjoy what they’re doing and are happy to be there. I get so enamored watching people in their element because their energy is contagious, and as a performer, I try to emulate that level of excitement. I absolutely LOVE performing magic, and any time I see photos or videos of myself performing, regardless of the performance medium or audience volume, I think my passion, amorousness, and enthusiasm comes through loud and clear. And that, in and of itself, makes me really happy. These zoom comments were from a performance I did last night, which was so much fun! ?

Thank you, WriteGirl for having me perform last night! I had an absolute blast! And a big thank you to @jeffblackmagic for recommending me! ? If you’re unfamiliar with @writegirlla, they are an LA based organization that pairs professional women writers with at-risk teen girls who do not have access to creative writing or mentorship programs. Every year, WriteGirl produced dozens of workshops, panel discussions, and special events to help girls get creative, succeed in high school, and excel in college. Since 2001, 100% of WriteGirl’s graduating seniors have entered college, many on full or partial scholarships! ❤️

A bonus of performing virtually is that your room set-up (not in zoom frame) is invisible to the audience. ? And yes, my computer is on top of magic books, which is on a stool, which is on a coffee table. Whatever works, right? Now, if only I could bibbity-boppity-boo the mess in order to put things away… ?
