PRETTIEST CURRENCY ???????????? // Which side is your favourite? This is in the Maldives ???????? where the Maldivian Rufiyaa bills are made of a polymer which makes them much more durable and waterproof as well ????. Kind of makes sense right? ????️ The 1,000 Maldivian Rufiyaa bill has the whaleshark on side and sea turtle on the other. If you look closely at the see through port, it has the dotted whaleshark pattern too ????. Most have just focused on the 1,000 bill but the others are quite pretty as well. We also had the 500 at one point but had to break it during our stay at the @conrad_maldives ????. The 1,000 bill is equivalent to $89 CAD/$65 USD/€55 EUR so we had to make sure we had enough cash for the conversion at the airport but totally worth it as our main souvenir from the trip! #goingawesomeplaces #visitmaldives #maldives #whaleshark #maldivestrip

PHYSICAL: MALDIVES // We had a blast representing our country for the filming of this new Netflix series ???????????? LOL more like we binged all of @netflixca Physical: Asia before we left and when we got to the @conrad_maldives and saw all the equipment they had in the new Rangali Island gym, Chantelle had the idea to recreate some of the challenges ???? Which was your favourite challenge from the series? And what do you do to stay fit when on vacation? #goingawesomeplaces #conradmaldives #physicalasia #visitmaldives #hiltonforthestay

SINGAPORE’S CHANGI ???? // Looking for tranquil and free spots to visit while at one of the best airports in the world, this guide covers where you should visit, whether at the Jewel, T2, and T3. We had a a good 5 hour layover at SIN, landing at T2 and departing from T3, giving us lots of time to explore. We saw a lot but still missed a few spots. ???? We learned a few key things that you need to know before you go - Jewel is not air-side which means you need to go through immigration/customs. Make sure you have your SGAC filled out online before you go so it’s just a matter of going through an automated gate. Once you’re past luggage, you’re in the Jewel. - Many of these are not as easy to find as I thought. The airport is massive and so we found ourselves walking quite a bit just to find certain places. Butterfly Garden comes to mind as one that’s quite hidden. Many of these felt like IYKYK. Even on the map, it’s not obvious. - We had 5 hours but that wasn’t enough time. If you plan on shopping and eating at the Jewel, you’ll have even less time to explore. I think you’d easily need 8+ hours to do it all. - The Rain Vortex has an opening show and evening light show so if that’s important to you, plan around them. - There’s a train that runs through the Jewel and it gives you a different perspective. We didn’t have time to ride it. Hope you find this helpful! #goingawesomeplaces #visitsingapore #changiairport #thisisSG

BKK PT 1 // We started our trip with 4 days in Bangkok ????????. It was nice to back after all of these years and Chantelle’s first time in Thailand ????! We filled the days with a mix of temples, shopping, rooftop bars, and mostly copious amounts of delicious food (Thai Milk Tea of course ????) and the spa practically every day ????. When in Bangkok right?? ???? A first for the both of us was attending our first Muay Thai fight which was quite the spectacle. My last time in Bangkok was a whirlwind so it was nice to get to see more of it this time around. More to come as we’ll also be back for a Part 2! #goingawesomeplaces #thailandinsider #bangkok #visitbangkok #travelthailand

GRAB MADNESS // Having no luck with Grab cabs during rush hour, we thought why don’t we try this Bike option. Do as the locals do right? We each called our own to try to make our spa appointment and let’s just say we got more than we bargained for ???????????? 1) I didn’t know I could ask for a helmet 2) The bikes are easily the most efficient way to get around the city. They literally snake through the cars to get to the front. It’s a free for all. 3) I had to grab onto the back of the bike for dear life. And no, you don’t hold onto your driver (I think lol) That’s why the app is called Grab right? Probably didn’t help that I tried to film it too ???? 4) Did I feel safe? Ah probably not really as I was thinking about what would happen if I leaned the wrong way, those tight car squeezes, or what would happen if I dropped my phone ☠️ but it sure was exhilarating. Would you hop on a Grab bike? Also if you have any Grab tips, let us know! #goingawesomeplaces #bangkok #visitbangkok #grabbike #thailandinsider

WENT TO THAILAND FOR THIS // The real reason we went to Thailand ???????? - to have Thai Milk Tea ????. Oh so good. This was at @iconsiam’s SOOKSIAM is a massive indoor floating market with street food galore and of course we were able to find Thai Milk Tea ✌️. Just the first of many food and drinks we’ll be trying on our trip to Bangkok ???? #goingawesomeplaces #bangkok #thailand #thaimilktea #thailandinsider

FINAL EPISODE ???????? // We’re finally at Episode 5 of our 10 days on Japan’s Golden Route where we finally tackle Tokyo over 2 days. ???? Comment AWESOME and you’ll get the link to the video DM’d to you. Since this was my parents first time to Tokyo and only having two days to work with, I tried in to weave in many of my favourites while also checking out a few new restaurants and viewpoints I hadn’t done before. The biggest find was Shibuya’s Mag8 viewpoint. It costs money to get in but it comes with a drink. Since there is a price, there are significantly less people up here which ultimately makes it more enjoyable. I thought it was worth it! Hope y’all enjoyed the vlog series! ❤️ #GoingAwesomePlaces #VisitJapanJP #tokyotravel #tokyotokyo japantrip https://youtu.be/4sQwUHd7hyE

PART TWO IN KYOTO // Our adventures continue in Episode 3 with the exploring of lesser-known places in Kyoto. A dream of mine was to also photograph the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest so my parents were troopers to wake up super early. What surprised me though was how it was actually Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple that I loved the most. ???? Comment AWESOME and you’ll get the link to the video DM’d to you. ???? MT FUJI UPCLOSE // In Episode 4 of our 10 days in Japan, we make it to the lakeside town of Kawaguchiko - one of the best places to see the legendary Mt. Fuji. For once, it wasn’t covered by the clouds! ???? Comment AWESOME and you’ll get the link to the video DM’d to you. This episode covers our 2 days in Kawaguchiko where instead of doing this as a day trip, we took the bus from Tokyo, rented a car, and stayed at an onsen hotel ???? ???? Episode 5 is going to be a tad late since we’re on the road right now so hang tight! #GoingAwesomePlaces #VisitJapanJP #kawaguchiko #mtfuji #japantrip https://youtu.be/4MhJyxVR6UA
