The year was 2016. I have infant twins ????, kick the year off bringing CrossFlowX™ to Germany for teacher trainings ????, teach workshops & classes all over the world???? AND one of my @shape photos gets turned into a meme ????. 2016 is a year of shoots, interviews, articles & video creation: for Shape, Fitness, @iamwellandgood , @greatist , NBC, @qineticlive (live streaming was new technology!) +more. I even got to be a part of Shape Magazine’s first talk show w @drjordanmetzl @adamrosante & @jaclyn.byrer ! 2016 was the year I was asked to be one of the first national Brand Ambassadors for @athleta & was everywhere for them: on billboards, 5th ave windows, teaching events& more. I got to speak about being a working mom: talks with @sakaralife , interviews with Beyond Mom, Expectful, and on so many summits + panels. The Movement - the studio I created CFX for turned 2, and my twinnies turned 1! Goddess brunches were next level ???? It was an unbelievable year for me professionally, but my grid’s “top 9” incudes 6 baby pics ???? If you took CFX back then, you likely remember this song ???? What a year!

For me, December requires Pratipaksha Bhavana: the yogic practice of replacing negative thoughts with positive or opposite ones. It’s so easy during this time of year to feel like we have to “fit everything in”, “get ALL the things done” before the calendar year ends, and attend / fulfill endless obligations, events, parties, and more obligations (especially if we have young children). So, I take to my mat, and literally flip my perspective and open my heart. With my body shaping itself in an opposite posture of how this time of year can make me feel, it becomes so much more simple and clear that this time of year is actually about: saying thank you to everyone who is part of my village, and celebrating. With an opposite posture, the positive / opposing thoughts to my stressed ones flow in freely. Living in gratitude (no matter how much we have to be grateful for) is so, so very powerful, but doesn’t always come naturally. Yesterday, I headed to @crossflow_yoga and did a flow that put me in the above shape. What do you do when your body and mind need a reset? ????????

I *do love* this IG trend! Especially since I’ve been off here for far too long, and I’m trying to get back to it ????. Can you relate to any of these?! A little about me…. Unfortunately, I do love: ☄️Having a place for everything and everything in its place. ☄️Making endless to-do lists (and then working my hardest to cross everything off). ☄️Being upside down. ☄️Hearing a song lyric in nearly everything my children say, and then singing them that song. ☄️Working for myself. ☄️Saying yes to giving my time to organizations who do great things, when I don’t have time. ☄️Constantly renovating our home (sometimes by choice, often not). ☄️Trying to give 100% of myself to everything I do (I can only stretch so far). I also love reading books about witches, werewolves and other supernatural creatures when my brain needs a break, singing any time / all of the time, watching Grey’s Anatomy on repeat, organizing anything and everything, trying to “fix” anything and everything; non-toxic everything, and @crossflow_yoga all day, every day ????. Fall check in: how’s your balance? I don’t mean your ability to not fall on your face, I mean your ability to balance all of the demands in your life with rest. I like to say in my classes that if you can support yourself with your own two hands on your yoga mat, you can support yourself in life. That doesn’t mean you should, though. Humans are social creatures. We were never intended to live life alone. Rest any chance you get (no matter how insignificant it can feel, or how *lazy* it can feel). And, lean on your people.
