Take a walk down memory lane with us to 1984, when the Nutcracker Market was only a few years old. Originally held in the basement of a local church, many items sold at the market during this time were handmade by dancers and members of the Houston Ballet Guild. Today the Nutcracker Market transforms NRG Center each year with the same holiday magic as before but with a whole lot more to see! And of course, across the decades each purchase made supports Houston Ballet. Join us for this year’s Nutcracker Market from November 13-16! #FromtheArchiveFriday ???? The stars you see on stage all start somewhere - and for some, that’s in programs like Chance to Dance! ???? Chance to Dance is a series of 8 classical ballet classes for first and second graders held at our Margaret Alkek Williams Houston Ballet Center for Dance. Students learn the fundamentals of ballet and dance to live musical accompaniment. At the conclusion of the series, select students are offered scholarships to join the Academy’s year-round classes! ????
