For a long time, I knew God, but I never trusted him. “I have my own relationship with God and he knows my heart” is what I always said to people. I held on to control, validation, old habits, and pain I thought I had to carry. I was masking in strength but living in survival. But Jesus met me in the wreckage. He’s been calling me out and I finally had the courage to say yes. This baptism isn’t just a celebration. It’s a funeral. I’m burying the version of me that settled for less than freedom. The one who believed she had to earn love. The one who thought she had to do it all alone. “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death… so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4 To everyone who has prayed with me, spoken truth over me, pointed me back to Jesus when I was drifting—I am eternally grateful for you. You’ve played a real part in leading me here. I love you more than words. This is me stepping into new life. For real this time. Dead to who I was & I’m so lucky to share this moment that means so much to me with you all???? Jesus I am yours.
