BIKER MICE FROM MARS

Been living with the hype beast Yaris GR-Four for the best part of a week now. In the right setting it’s ridiculously fast and can feel mini RS6 capable, no doubt, but can’t help but think it got built up to hero status a bit too quickly. Every time I park it up I look back and laugh at how angry it looks, in the right colour they really look properly special. But then you get inside and aside from a tiny plaque and some headrest stitching you’d never know you’re in something as closely linked to a rally car as this thing is, I really do think the interior could do with some more motorsport touches (think early Honda Type-Rs with metal gear knobs and red bucket seats, not expensive but exciting). Perhaps an emotional connection is too much to ask of a modern Japanese performance hatchback, but I still think it really should have that effervescent quality that makes you tingle. I do think @chaussurescowboy has a point though - asking that is not too far from expecting a passionate relationship with a blow up doll, ‘but this is the Kate Moss of blow up dolls!’
