Got run over by a Toyota Tundra 2 days ago in Arizona. Literally hit me and ran over my back / butt with the back right tire. People who saw it said they thought I was dead when they saw the truck ramp over my body... I did too for a split second. Thought for sure I’d be paralyzed. I wasn’t. Not sure the extent of my injuries but I believe God MUST have been behind keeping me alive and if this isn’t the best reminder to live every day for Him then I don’t know what is. I told you it’s been rocky lately.
And maybe I’ve been dramatic about it - but I feel like I’m in the fight of my life ??

For my future. My REAL dream. My goals and yes… even my soul ??

Lose a job, your car and your home and you would, too. But it’s how we respond that matters. It shapes us forever. We can cry about it or we can trust God and get to work! I choose the later.

I’ll be performing / writing music here and there forever. But when that doesn’t get me where I want to be - I find more work. I did manual labor today. I pick up my first shift at @bufordsaustin tomorrow night. I’m excited for the future because I know who’s in control. All I have to do is believe and work.

Let’s be honest - I’m not where I planned on being in life… I thought I’d have a wife and kids by now. I have my share of haters who love when I’m down but the good news is - down is just a state of mind and I’m not in that state… I’m in the state of freakin Texas ?

So I’ll turn the comments back on eventually but for now I don’t need em… I have a purpose, a plan & a fire in my heart. Thanks and TONS of love to all of you rooting for me. I see you.

New season in my life - and the season is basically about less of MY life. Let me explain:

I know self-care is highly prioritized these days and that’s cool. But I personally think the more we worry about pleasing ourselves… the less happy we are.

You ever notice extremely wealthy people are generally unhappy? I mean when you have all you want materially you stop filling up on the good stuff. And you replace it with things. But that’s not what God created us to live on.

The good stuff is what you already have.
1) The people you love most. Let’s make sure THEY are happy and loved and I bet then YOU’LL feel better as a result. Don’t take them for granted.
2) The God that made you. Let’s make sure we worship Him. And place His interests over our own. That fills us up. That water doesn’t leave us thirsty.

I guess I’m saying this because I unknowingly put myself first for a while… and I hated it. And now that I see it all I can say is it feels so much better to be last than first. God tells us we have to lose our lives to gain them. I’m taking Him at His Word and giving this a shot. I hope you join me and it’s nice to find a reason to smile again because there is ALWAYS hope.
