Lost sheep wandering amongst the burnt trees surrounding my home town of Forster-Tuncurry on the NSW mid-north coast.⠀
⠀
Australia's catastrophic fire season has changed much of the east-coast landscape, and it's far from over. ⠀

On a freezing cold morning in March 2016, I sat shivering and sheltering under a tree as heavy rain and strong winds lashed Lake Pehoé behind me.⠀
⠀
It was the tail-end of a fierce storm that had been battering us for hours, but it was almost over and the light to follow it would be the making of photography dreams.⠀
⠀
I shot 124 frames that morning. A bulk of which were vertical 50mm multi-row pano sequences but a good few were single frames on their own. To-date, I’ve edited and shared three of them. Here’s a fourth.⠀

⠀
Climate change is no longer some far-off problem; it is happening here, it is happening now.⠀
⠀
But, irrespective of your position, one undeniable fact endures, this world is our home, and we need to care for it. ⠀

It was 4am and the previous night's rain had subsided, but the heat and humidity certainly hadn’t.⠀
⠀
In this moment, floating down river on my creaking bamboo raft and the incredible karst peaks slowly appearing with the first dawn light, I had never felt further from home.⠀
