There’s about a year between the first 2 and last 2 photos. Even tho I was 20lbs lighter a year ago, I was certainly not happier. I spent a full year chasing the idea of “smaller” or “leaner” instead of “happier” or “stronger” …and it showed. I was constantly fighting to “just lose 5 more pounds.” (Which is insane btw, but it was a very real thought I constantly had.) You know what tho? Those 5-10lbs — that’s your life. That’s your late night pizza with your man, Sunday dinners with your family. Your favorite cupcake in the entire world because you wanted to treat yourself. Those 5-10 pounds are your favorite memories, unforgettable trips, celebrations of life. Those 5-10 pounds are your spontaneity, your freedom, your love. Let go of the idea that you need to be lean 24/7. Stop constantly chasing this smaller version of yourself. It’s not going to make you happier, I promise. Your life will get 10xs better if you disassociate your self-worth with your weight/physical appearance.

If you ever find yourself following someone’s account and wishing your life was theirs…. Realize that almost nothing you see on IG is real. Like, nothing. We see luxurious living, tight abs, perfect teeth, airbrushed skin and designer clothes. We’re sold that this is all real life, and if it’s not, it COULD be if you just “click here”. Don’t get caught up in the facade that is social media. How you feel about your actual life, (you know, the real one going on OUTSIDE of this little phone), is so much more important than how it looks. Happy fryday my friends ???? Love you long time!

Things I’d tell myself in my late teens/early twenties: • Very few, if any of these people whose opinions you care about now will be with you later in life. • Be incredibly selective with who you allow into your life. Not everyone has your best interest at heart. • Your divorce was God’s redirection. Trust that. • Don’t waste your energy trying to please everyone at the expense of your own happiness. Get comfortable being disliked. • Listen to your parents. • Your worth does not lie in your looks, no matter how many people tell you otherwise. • You are SO loved. ???????? what would you tell your younger self?

I‘ve been a lot less present on IG the past few months. Social media has become a circus. We get rewarded for posting the stupidest shit. Twerking, weird little dance trends, a bikini picture, etc. Nothing of actual value. This generation is learning that they can become famous doing something literally worthless to society. It’s like a bunch of children on the playground all screaming “Look at me! Look at me!” We’ve become so desensitized to everything we see. Movies, shows, TikTok’s, porn, dating apps, constantly at our fingertips. This type of instant gratification destroys relationships, messes with our hormones, brain function and productivity. A constant, mindless distraction that pulls us away from reality. I realized that the more consumed I was with Social Media, the more consumed I became with myself. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I’d been trading precious time with the people I love for time scrolling on my phone. I can tell you right now, not one of those seconds was worth that trade. I’ve been working really hard on creating boundaries in many different areas of my life, social media being a big one. Who I follow. Who/what I respond to/interact with. How much time I spend on it per day, and WHEN I spend that time. All have boundaries. Not everything on SM is negative. There are some incredible aspects and truly valuable content. I just encourage you to really evaluate the content you’re consuming and if it’s in alignment with your highest self. What you look at/follow is one of the easiest things you can control, and in times when we have the world at our fingertips, it’s important to create boundaries where you can.
