Hello everyone; Things are slowly coming together. I know it seems like an eternity until the book is finished, but I want to be open with you. Thanks to many crowdfunding orders, I was able to cover part of my costs, but it was still far from enough to cover the entire production. I photographed around 80 people on film (€3,000), had five writers write texts for the book (€2,500), text translation, proofreading (€1,500), and layout (€1,000). The book printing as planned will cost me €17,000 for a print run of 500 copies. I want the book to be really good and exceed your expectations. I know that as a photographer/artist, you don’t make money with photo books. I’ve published two books on my own and a few other group projects. So I know what I’m talking about. I’m doing all this just to create visibility for the different bodies we have, as men or people perceived as male. Of course, also to express myself. It’s a kind of diary or self-portrait. I had some ups and downs last year and just couldn’t bring myself to devote more time to finishing my book. I lost a year, and now you’re waiting another year until BIGGER is finally in your hands. No one wants the project finished more than I do, but I can say that everything is in the starting blocks. The layout is sorted, the text too; now I just need to fine-tune a few things and then it can go to print. The last few weeks have been stressful for personal reasons, but I’m confident that everything will fall into place this summer. Thank you for your patience, and keep your fingers crossed for June-July.
