Today I had so much fun being on @crollwagen’s podcast @thinklocalist once again! We talked about my journey leaving my 9-to-5 traditional law firm job and becoming a full-time influencer / entrepreneur ,and of course how I’m navigating this space while being an attorney. ??‍♀️

I’ve always dreamed of speaking on stages across the country, so each time I get a speaking opportunity it feels surreal… like I’m one step closer. I still don’t know what’s my dream stage or dream topic or any of that but what I do know is the experience I’m gaining now is setting me up on the right path to achieve my dreams ✨

CONFESSION…

Imposter syndrome almost won. ? I put on my 2021 vision board that I wanted to be a CLE speaker on the topic of influencer marketing but honestly, I was cool if it happened in 2022.

But God knew I was ready even before I realized it. ✨ May 20, 2021 I’ll be hosting a CLE on Navigating the Influencer Marketing Industry as a Lawyer ??‍♀️! I’m beyond excited and so grateful for the opportunity!

However, yesterday I was trying to finish the powerpoint presentation and all I could think was… “you aren’t qualified for this” “you’re a baby lawyer” “these seasoned lawyers won’t listen to you” “just email them you can’t do it anymore.” etc. I hate to admit this but I pride myself in being real, authentic, and honest on my platforms… so boom vulnerable moment. [there are other personal things going on that have played a role too but the focus today is imposter syndrome]

So I closed my laptop and prayed… and cried. I got honest with myself and realized I do believe I’m qualified. I do believe I deserve this opportunity. I do believe in the value that I can bring. I BELIEVE IN ME. I dang near screamed my affirmations in the mirror [and laughed after]. I immediately felt a sense of relief. ?

I have big scary goals that I know I can achieve but every now and again I get caught up in the comparison game and have to remind myself that God has a plan crafted perfectly for me. What’s for me is already mine, I just need to take it.
