NYC DIARIES - or everything I did in October and it deserves to be shared! ???? @lanacionalnyc absolutely loved to check this Spanish restaurant. Not only the tapas are delicious, but the paella is also chef’s kiss! ???? @wicked_musical already made it to my top favorite musicals. Can’t believe it took me so long to check! Also, here’s another tip: we got orchestra seats through the online lottery for ~$55 each! With my sister visiting, we have been trying our luck on Broadway Direct and Lucky Seat and scored tickets for lots of shows for $40-$50 each! ????️ @speakeasymagick not your average Magic show. We were just speechless. Such an incredible experience! ???? I mentioned North Woods on a previous post. And with fall foliage, the park is just… magical! ???? @hellskitchenbway another show I checked last month. Had no idea about the story and had such a great time! ???????? Risas com J - comedy show in Spanish featuring different Spanish speaker comedians organized by @briangrossi ???? @harlempilates happy to be taking Pilates classes again and supporting a local business in the neighborhood! ???? NYC MARATHON 2026 — HERE I COME! ????????♀️???? Can’t believe I finished my 9+1 program exactly one year before the 2026 @nycmarathon — and one day before the 2025 edition! Such an incredible feeling. I’m so proud of myself, excited for this journey… and a little scared, lol. Since starting this qualifying journey, I’ve realized a lot of people have no idea how it works, so I thought I’d take this occasion to briefly explain. ✅There are a few ways to run the NYC Marathon, and one of them is the 9+1 program. It means you complete 9 @nyrr qualifying races and volunteer at 1 NYRR event within the same year — and you’ll earn guaranteed entry to the following year’s marathon (you still need to pay the registration fee). You also need to have an active NYRR membership by December 31 of that year. ‼️But remember: the NYC Marathon is the largest marathon in the world, and thousands of runners want to be part of it. So signing up for the qualifying races takes some attention and planning. ????The best advice I can give anyone looking to complete the 9+1 is to follow NYRR on social media, sign up for their newsletter, and keep an eye on their website — but also join the r/RunNYC subreddit. It’s one of the best sources for up-to-date info and tips, not just about the 9+1 but the NYC running scene in general. ???????? Thanks to a post I found there, I was able to secure my volunteer spot early, and every time NYRR announced new races registrations dates, someone would post about it immediately. ????Another tip: consider becoming an NYRR Plus Member. It’s a bit more expensive, but it gives you early access to race registration, which is totally worth it since many races sold out quickly this year. ????♀️ Another tip: since I started this journey - from training for my half marathon to keeping up with all my 9+1 races, I used @runna - it’s an incredible running app that creates personalized training plans. Use code LAURAP and try it for free for 2 weeks! ????♀️I hope my experience helps other runners - a lot of people around me had no idea what it really takes to qualify for the NYC Marathon. It’s so good to create new good habits ???? I’ve started to go on walks with Dalbit around North Woods in Central Park and it has been so good to have some time with nature - this area of the park it’s like a little forest ❤️ and this week I brought my sister and my brother-in-law along and they also loved to explore this “not so popular” area of the park.
